Gross Master Topalov Started with Victory the ‘Amber ‘ Championship
Bulgarian world champion veselin Topalov started with victory his participation on the international chess tournament ‘Amber’ in Monaco.
The first ‘blindfold’ party Topalov won the Hungarian Peter Leko, and in the second party rapid chess Topalov finished with even game against the Hungarian gross-master.
That’s how Topalov won the mini-match against Peter Leko with 1:5:0,5 points.
The ‘Amber’ tournament by tradition consists of mini-matches of two parties – one blindfold and one in rapid chess party.
Part in this year’s tournament in Monte Carlo, except the Bulgarian champion, take also the world champion Viswanathan Anand (India), ex-world champion Vladimir Kramnik (Russia), Peter Leko(Hungary), Alexander Morozevich (Russia), Shahriar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan) and others.

Babelfish gone berserk?
I own a book in Russian titled “Grossmester Portisch”—I guess this means Susan’s countryman Lajos (Louis) made gross messes on the board :-). If you speak German then gross is grand, and this got picked up by nearby languages.
Party time! Yay!
So, how fat is Topalov? 😛
Does anybody know why Topalov resigned his blindfold game against Anand today? He is a pawn up in a different color bishop ending…and loses??
At least this year he is not playing “with bandage”
Hungarian and English are two of the most complicated languages in the world. Translation must be a nightmare. My hat’s off to anyone who tries.
Topa can’t see Rybka notes from chess coach blind-folded.
I heard his coach tried to fart hints in morse code, but Vishy’s snoring got in the way as did the smell of the farts.
Therefore, Topa resigns and Vishy wakes up as the winner.
bad bishop,
You’re a crude offensive idiot.
Please go away and don’t come back.
OK,anon 21:31, because of your brilliant retort of calling me a “crude offensive idiot”,
I will quit this page and get back to my Presidential campaign.

What did I miss? Anything exciting?

Where did you get this information, Anon? Elsewhere on Susan’s blog it says the game was drawn.
They made an earlier mistake by posting the score briefly as 0:1, when, in fact, it was a draw.
