FIDE Secretariat has published the bids for the World Chess Championships 2019 received by the deadline of 31st March 2017.
The bids were forwarded to the FIDE Events Commission which will decide on the technical sufficiency of the bids received according to the bid regulations and the call for bids published on the FIDE site.
The All India Chess Federation was the most active in the process, submitting bids for four events. China and Thailand are also in contention for the World Youth Championships.
Traditional European hosts, Italy, Romania, Turkey and Greece, are in the competition. Germany is interested in Senior events, while Mexico City wants the Amateur Championship.
