Qg3 seems best, threatening Rxh7+ or Rxg8+. The only thing that I see for Black is Qg6, giving up a Q, planning to get one back with the a pawn. Then Rxg6 Rxg6 or hxg6 Qe5+
This puzzle is way too simple, with 3 brutal moves, all checks. It is much more fun if we put the h5 pawn to h4. It kills the Qg3+ move, forces white to work with Qg2+ and Qxd5+. It might not be winnable, though. 😀
1.Rxg8+ Kxg8
2.Qg3+ Qg6
3.Qb8+ and mate next move
I think it is
Rxg8 Kxg8
Q-g3+ Q-g6
Q-b8+
how about qg3 followed by qe5
han
RxB KxR
QG3+
The punchline is Qb8
Isn’t there a forced win? 1. Rxg8+ Kxg8 2. Qg3+ Qg6 (K-anywhere is Qg7#)
3. Qb1+ with mate to follow
September 6th is a great chess day. Birthday wishes go out to GM’s Ben Finegold & Boris Kreiman and IM’s Martha Fierro & John Grefe.
1. Rxg8+ Kxg8
2. Qg3+ Qg6
3. Qb8+ Qe8
4. Qxe8#
1.Rxg8+ Kxg8
2.Qg2+ Qg6
3.Qxd5+ Re6
4.Qd8 Qe8
5.Qxe8#
R#B check and its over…after Qg3 check..if Qg8 then Qb8 …that was pretty simple
MM
1.Rxg8+ Kxg8 2.Qg3+ Qg6
[2…Kf8/h8 3.Qg7#]
3.Qb8+ Qe8 4.Qxe8#

there’s a nice queen manouver at hand:
1. Rxg8+ Kxg8
2. Qg2+ Qg6
3. Qxd5+ Kf8
4. Qd8+ Qe8
5. Qxe8#
no way for black to get out of this.

Rxg8+, Kxg8
Qg3+, Qg6

Rxg8+, Kxg8

1.Rg8, 2.Qg3 and 3.Qb8 or Qg7 work well imho.
