So what if they are clones. It’s irrelevant. Are these two the strongest chess engine today or not? This is the real puzzle? Who cares if they are clones. And clones of what? Are you saying they are identical? Because they are not. If you’d bother to see them playing against each other on a platform like shredder classic you will immediately notice that rybka is calculating its next move only using tens or hundreds o kn/s (depending on your PC) when on the other hand houdini is using thousands of kn/s (double then deep shredder 10 UCI on phenom 6 cores). That’s because rybka it’s using knowledge when making it’s next move and houdini uses brute calculations. If you are saying that they are both clones of some other chess engine then this is even more irrelevant. I could say that they are descendants of crafty, so what? Everything in this world it’s based on inspiring from other things. To us matters what they become and which one is better and more useful for us today. Stop posting useless comments because I CARE!
No brainer. Houdini will win.
susan, nobody cares any more for this.both programs are clones.
I care…& Houdini is better.
