The 47th Capablanca in Memoriam International Chess Tournament will be held from 3rd to 14th May, 2012, at the Hotel Habana Riviera, in La Habana, Cuba.
The main Elite Group will once again be a six-player double round robin. The field includes past winners of the Capablanca Memorial – GM Vassily Ivanchuk (2764) of Ukraine, with five trophies, and the Cuban GM Leinier Domínguez (2730), three-times winner.

Actually the problem with Cuba is not Cuba itself, but the US State Department which regarding the US embargo prohibits US players to go to Cuba, unless they have an extra justification to go to Cuba as a colateral job for example going as a journalist. That was the pretext that allowed GM Larry Evans in 1964 to go to Cuba to play in the Capablanca Memorial that year, I saw him. Fischer wanted to do the same in 1965 but the US State Department vetoed that idea, he had to play via teletype.
