Webster University freshman Grandmaster Wesley So (Philippines) won the 2012 World Open Blitz. July is a good month for this young phenom as he also captured the Toronto International and Quebec Invitational titles, three in less than one month.
He will be the top ranked player for the Webster University Chess Team this fall. He is also the top ranked Filipino and he will be playing board 1 for the Philippines in the upcoming Chess Olympiad in Istanbul, Turkey.
Wesley is also the 5th ranked junior in the world on the August 2012 FIDE rating list. His teammate and roommate Grandmaster Ray Robson is ranked 14th.
