The General Secretary of Tamil Nadu State Chess Association, V. Hariharan, has invited the local press for a meeting “in connection with the World Chess Championship Match 2013 between Grandmaster V.Anand and Grandmaster Carlsen to be held at Chennai during November, 2013″.
The venue of the Press meet will be Raj Park, 180 T.T.K.Road, Alwarpet, Chennai – 18 .at 05:00 pm today, Monday 8th April, 2013.

Meanwhile, The Hindu newspaper states that the match “will be held in Chennai between November 6 and 26 at Chennai and the state government will allot Rs 29 crore for the event, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa told the Assembly on Monday”.
“Since Tamil Nadu came forward to organise the event in 2012, The Word Chess Federation agreed to hold it in Chennai without bidding,” Ms. Jayalalithaa said.
Carlsen’s manager Espen Agdestein told VG.no: “We have not heard anything from Fide yet, so it is too early to comment.”
Tromsø was also expected to post a bid for the match
Update: The article on AsianChess states – “Since All India Chess Federation or India has exercised its right, there will be no opening of bid by FIDE for this match. FIDE officials are expected to reach India in the next week and complete the formalities of staging the match.”
FIDE Executive Director Nigel Freeman confirmed to Chessdom that the statement is correct.
