It’s official! Magnus hits a new high on the July 2010 FIDE rating list. This is the 2nd highest rating in chess history, only behind Kasparov at 2851. It’s also official that Onischuk and Nielsen crossed the magical 2700 mark! Fabiano is closing in at 2697.
On the women’s side, both Koneru and Hou lost points but still maintained the #2 and #3 ranking. WWC Kosteniuk is out of the top 10 once again. T. Kosintseva leaped from #7 to #4 thanks to her brilliant Women’s Grand Prix performance in Nalchik.
