Congratulations to Ray Robson. How many rating points will he get for winning this tournament?
Congratulations to the young lad! Well done! Any interview made? Cheers!
Fine result by Ray Robson, half-a-point more than needed, and beating Vigorito who looked like he was going to win the event.
Ray is not responsible for the fact that Angelo Young had to cell-phone forfeit against him in the 7th round. I presume this will not affect the score.
Talking of cell-phones, how do organisers ensure that someone does not ‘take a dive’ using a cell-phone? I’m confident this did not happen here btw. What happens if the players’ cell-phones both go off at the same moment? Is that a (quickie) draw?!
“Ray is not responsible for the fact that Angelo Young had to cell-phone forfeit against him in the 7th round.”
Maybe he had someone calling Angelo during the game? In that case both should be forfeited!
By the way, don’t tell me US arbiters really follow the FIDE rule of cell phones?? Ha, ha, ha! No one follows this ridiculuos rule!! The arbiters issue warnings first!! Losers.
FIDE rules are different from USCF rules. a FIDE tournament cannot just decide to enforce USCF rules. idiot.
