Does the US team have a shot of winning?
Nakamura is better than Carlsen. He’ll score 8-0 on board 1.
What kind of WORLD championship is this!!?? Greece, Turkey, Egypt?
Can´t be serious…
Armenia will win as usual…
Well… like a football world cup with teams from Africa or Asia…
You know a world cup has representatives from all continents and the organiser. (Egypt for Africa, Turkey host country, India from Asia etc). The only “strange team” is Greece (got a wild card due to good relations with the Turkish chess federation) . But is hardly a bad team (above 2600 average first 4 boards). Not that worse team than say USA.
Also Azerbaijan took a wild card, but is perfectly justified due to their strength.
Why don’t you all first learn who is and who isn’t eligible for World Team Championship, and then talk?
No Kamsky, so it will be a challenge for the U.S. to medal. But at least it’s nice to see young talents like Hess and Robson get a taste of top international competition.
You all just wait for the Olympiad later this year, where everyone’s favorite team will be playing.
India is the replacement team for China from Asia.
Why did China drop out, anyone??
