Poor Anna she gave it all. Despite ll the nagative comments Anna did win fair and square and deserve to be a world champion in 2012. It just that Hou Yifan prefer this format. She dis beat Konersu very comprehensively in 2011. When Hou Yifan was 14 she lost in the final to Alexandra Kosteniuk in a knock out format. In 2010 she nearly got knock out by Zhu Chen and just beat Ruan Lufei for the title. As we all know Yifan and other higher rated players all got knock out by round 2.Next WC will be a lottery lot again. Congratualation to Hou Yifan and Anna (at least Anna you can go shopping now1)
if the knock out format is so great, why doesn’t the men’s championship use that? Apparently randomly generating a champion in the knockout is not preferred method to select men’s champion but somehow it is the best method in women’s cycle half the time.
Hou Yifan’s strength is closer to 2700 I feel. But this match illustrates how unreliable the knock-out format is to determine the best player. But the crazy thing is they are going to do it again next cycle. Abolish these Women’s World Championship lotteries!

“It just that Hou Yifan prefer this format”
My mistake. It should be written “Hou Yifan prefers the current (2013) format”
