This mess has become a big joke. This was published on a Spanish chess site.
What a sad day for chess! I urge Kramnik, Topalov and FIDE to think about the consequences. Let’s give and take some and let’s play chess! The chess fans are waiting for you!
Remember my motto: “WIN WITH GRACE and LOSE WITH DIGNITY!”
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
what’s really sad though is that there is no governing body in chess that says, “Just play or you get no money” – players in other sports can’t just go on strike – in matches like this, you need strict guidelines- if anything, topalov’s claim should be dismissed and if he doesn’t like it, he should forfeit the match and receive no money
Sorry to say this, but you seem up your own ass Zsuzsa. Constantly spamming the ICC advertising your own blog.
Remember your motto? Why?
You are rated 2580 in chess or whatever, that’s all. Your opinions on this matter seem incoherent, without detail and simplistic.
You need to look at the issues and reach conclusions. You can’t just repeat some hippie slogans let’s all be good and happy and smiling.
There are issues here that need to be sorted. If you are not going to give your opinion on them, it’s pointless.
What have you done for the good of chess anonymous? Besides ripping on one of the all time great ambassadors of the game, and what does here rating have to do with anything? She gives great commentary on chess….toilet or no toilet has nothing to do with chess…rather it’s petty chess politics.
Well Kramnik is following your slogan.
Mr. Kramnik later charged at a news conference that the decision to lock the bathrooms was a reflection of bias on the part of the appeals committee that heard Mr. Topalov’s protest and said that he would continue the match only if the original conditions were restored.
He reportedly concluded by saying, “My dignity does not allow me to stand this situation.”
Unfortunatley, Topolov is not following your slogan at all because there is no grace at all in the way he “won” game 5
Top’s team how can you do that you do not have the right to being doing that
that is very low and I can not see you guys playing at that level. Restroom? are you out of your mind?
Kramnik a cheater?
Everything right now indicates that Topalov’s camp has ever reason to be suspicious (to say the least):
– There are no cameras in the bathroom
– Neither player is physically searched for NON ELECTRONIC DEVICES
– Kramnik makes his best decisions after “consulting” with the toilet.
– A small chess set (easily hidden in a pocket) can be used to physically make moves in it thus giving an instant advantage to said player of at least 300 ELO points.
– Kramnik’s refusal to play under “non private toilet conditions” is extreamly suspicious as proven by these facts.
Moderator must baned comments like this one!
It starts a bad hoax!
Shame on you mister anonymous! How coward you are to post like a rat!
dcax you obviously work for Kramniks camp! Refute the arguments not just engage in slander!
What arguments?
I’m for Topalov and Kramnik! They played the game otb and all went good.
I’m not for danailov, nor the fide commitee who made all that craps!they appeared and all collapse!
You are a hoaxmaker , just that!
I apologise for suggesting Kramnik could be a cheat. I now realise my own foolishness. Of course he could not cheat with a pocket set. Looking at the surveillance records Kramnik spent a minute in the bathroom, then came out of the bathroom, spent two minutes in the bathroom, then came out of the bathroom. In this time you could not even set up a position on a pocket set, nevermind analyse anything. And to say it would increase his strenght by 300 points is very stupid of me.
Again, apologies.
Sincerely yours,
anonymous
This is very sad. My 8 year old son is getting interested in Chess and is following the matches with me in the morning before school by watching the moves play out on Internet. He is fascinated in the game and even commented on possible moves as he watched the games play out.
I am at a loss to explain to him what is happening. I am old enough to remember most of the Championships since 1972 and it always seems like the players are engaging in psychological “games” to get the upper hand. I think this is a “game” on the part of Topolov that has gone very badly. How do you explain two grown men behaving as children to an 8 year old child?
I guess I will find out soon.
Chessbase if full of articles discussing the enormous difference in rating between playing blinfolded and normal chess. Having a small chess set to make moves is the equivalent for the opponent to playing blinfolded. The Elo difference is equivalent to at least 300 points.
How stupid of me to say that. I ment it is not worth even 30 ELO points. Apologies for accusing Kramnik of being a cheat.
yours,
anonymous
Did anyone get a clear answer- why Kramnik went 50 times to the toilet? No. He refused to play when checks were put in place. This proves only one thing- Kramnik was cheating. Amateurish arbiters did not secure bathrooms. The Appeals Committe did not respect tournament regulations. How sponsors of the World Championship feel that their brand name is connected with cheating, incompetence and scandals? Good luck- FIDE.
It’s nice to know someone has a sense of humor about this fiasco. 🙂
That is exactly the weird part, the blunders he made were not preceded by a restroom brake! Only the good moves (his best).
ECJ -Eric C. Johnson, we know that your are the anonymous who posts the attacks against Susan. Your attacks are obviously out of line of the issues.
Eric, we have seen your ECJ style of attacks on Sam Sloan’s FIDE-chess@yahoo.com group.
We know you ECJ like to use the word “ass” and other gay associated profanities.
So stop already. And be afraid, be very afraid, because we have you under surveillance in Allentown, PA, for your “Boy Scouts” activities, and your chess tutoring of young boys.
Sure, Kramnik is cheating… The guy missed a mate in 3…he must be the worst cheater ever!
Blunders do not prove a thing. He is accused of INTERMITENT cheating.
