In 2013, after 6,378 votes, 62% of the fans believed that Carlsen would win. Will it be different this time?
In addition, what do you think the final score will be, and in favor of which player?
Who will win the Carlsen – Anand rematch 2014? |

Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Kasparov think they should replace Anand with Nakamura. More exciting.
Nakamura should first qualify for candidates 2015 before beating Carlsen there as Anand will dethrone Carlsen
Nobody was taking Nakamura ‘ s name when the Candidates started. Everyone was saying that it was a strong tournament and very few expected Anand to actually win it .Mid way through it became clear that Anand was going to dominate it .So people , who did not want to give due credit to Anand started taking the names of Nakamura or Caruanou who did not player . This is really funny. Now is not Aronian a higher ranked player than Nakamura , who played the Candidates. If the contingent was very weak why the same people thought that Anand did not have a chance .
Now if Aronian did not play here ( let’s suppose a Nakamura played in his place) the same people would have argued that Anand ‘ s victory was due to absence of Aronian.
Nakamura did not qualify through a legitimate process. Anand, Carlsen everyone have gone through the process. Now if he is not good enough to qualify for Candidates , how can people say that he can beat a five time world champion , who has the experience of playing against the likes of Karpov and Kasparov and beating them at their best!
Mr sekhar.i fully agree with u.
Nakamura sucks. He wont even beat GIRI.
Though I would like Anand to win, I dare say that Carlsen would be a heavy favourite to win the rematch. That said, Carlsen would be heavily favoured against every other opposition.Doubtless youngsters like Nakamura, Caruana, Karjakin vs Carlsen would have been exciting indeed, but Nakamura and Caruana did not qualify for the just concluded candidates and Karjakin did indeed have chances to upset Anand.
Were the match to be held tomorrow I’d even favour Anand. But after such a long hiatus (and possibly some loss of form) it should be Carlsen again.
Anand will in all probabilities win against Carlsen. Don’t forget how easily he lead in Candidates2014 from start to finish. Can Nakamura and Kasparov himself do it? Nakamura and all others can have a go at Carlsen in Candidates 2015 to their hearts fill, i.e.if they qualify for it.
I fully agree with Kramnik ‘ s view that Anand ‘ s problems in Chennai were in his mind. I strongly recommend both Susan Polgar and Vladimir Kramnik to be his seconds. I have a haunch that Carlsen got some tips from a former world champion in Chennai. Some incisive mental edge. Again Anand is one person who can’t have a home advantage. Rather home is a disadvantage for him . That’s why he is in Spain most of his career. India has hardly recognised his true worth. He should have been the first person to receive the Bharat Ratna. Again I believe Anand should do lot of physical exercise and consume right kind of foods. He should hire a physical trainer and a nutritionist and a sports psychologist like Paddy Upton. I just hope that no Indian city bags for it. Anand will have great chances if it’s held outside Asia except Oslo.
The real question is whether Anand will even win a game.
I suspect that Carlsen is as excited (and pleased) as anyone that his opponent will be Anand.
Carlsen will be much more confident this time, as he now knows Anand well than the previous tournament. Candidates is a different format with multiple players, so we cannot compare that to WCC, which is a real test. Anand was very nervous last time, and he will be more scared this time.
