I know, it is a cat and not a tiger but I just thought the picture is cute. Anyway, who do you consider to be the top new young talent that will rule the chess world 5 years from now?
* Karjakin (Born in 1990) 2660
* Carlsen (1990) 2625
* Radjabov (1987) 2700
* Harikrishna (1986) 2673
* Areshchenko (1986) 2670
* Volotikin (1986) 2665
* Nakamura (1987) 2644
* Fritz 13 (2010) 3000+

A year ago I would have said Radjabov, but now I’m thinking Karajakin. Next year I’ll probably be thinking Carlsen, so in five years it should be Wang Hoa of China.
Its got to be either Karjakin or Carlsen, even though the other guys you mentioned are pretty good, too
I think the three top will be Harikrishna (trained by Ubilava – Anand’s ex-trainer), Karjakin and Carlsen

Hi,
I would say Nakamura, because Carlsen and Karjakin are to young. Nakamura has more experience, and that will give him the edge. But ten years from now Carlsen and Karjakin will be dominant.
Carlsen. I predict Nakamura will experience some disillusionment with his chess career and will leave chess for a little while like Kamsky did.
Oh, and another prediction about Nakamura. Kamsky will overtake him as the highest rated US player in the USCF rankings by December of this year.
I agree with kamal. No one would be able to dominate like kasparov did. It will be a tough compitition. and susan you forgot shakriyar mamadyrov.
all these guys will win tournaments alternatively
Unfortunately, there is no stopping the computers. They can only improve.
What will happen to chess when newbies will find better moves using a computer than any GM ?

why predict. sit back enjoy the ride and lets see who wins out. I love them all. great bunch of players.
may the best man win.
I thought that kamsky has a higher elo than Nakamura right now. and always did since kamsky elo goes back several years.

…tommy…of course!
anonymous, he has a higher FIDE rating, but NOT a higher USCF rating.
Carlsen…no doubt about it.
Look at what he’s doing at the Corus tourney. Incredible.
