I would ask how come the USCF keep losing money. This can be to any board member. If they can’t keep the organization in the black, why do they want to keep running the federation?
“I would ask how come the USCF keep losing money. This can be to any board member. If they can’t keep the organization in the black, why do they want to keep running the federation?”
You might easily get the following answer :
“Selling chess in United States is more difficult than selling umbrellas to Saudis.”
All the politicians talk about improving the economy. They rarely can do so.
I have a question for Mr. Schultz. Do you believe your board is political?
As far as I can see, Susan Polgar and her foundation has done so many good things for chess.
Here are some examples I read:
– SPF: Created Olympiad Training Program that won medals – SPF: Awarded a lot of chess scholarships for kids – SPF: Run the SP National Invitational for Girls, the SP National Open and SP World Open for Girls and Boys – Polgar Chess Center: Hosted training for Olympiad Team, US Chess League and tons of tournaments and training – SP: How can we even begin to list everything she has done?
However, she and her chess center as well as foundation have never been recognized by your board. Why not? Is it because of politics? I intend to vote for you but I would like to see more strong leadership from you.
I would ask Sam Sloan how a perverted old snake like him managed to avoid the penitentiary for all these years; then I’d ask him to name ONE positive thing he had done for chess.
This is in some ways an artificial question. USCF members in fact CAN ask EB members questions. We do so all the time on the USCF forums.
I’ve got into several arguments with them over time. Both President Bill Goichberg and Vice-President Don Schultz put statements onto my blog. Don Schultz has interacted with people on this blog.
Paul Truong recently had a debate with Bill Goichberg on the USCF Forum that was informative and mutually respectful. The kind of thing we need to see more of.
As to the questions about loosing money, Bill G recently had a statement addressing that very issue. I hope to be able to reprint it onto my blog so that it can be available for the outside world to see.
To sum up, you don’t have to speculate about asking them questions. Just log onto the USCF Forums and ask them for real.
USCF Forum? Are you kidding me? You need to take some medication Jack. Only about 50 people regularly read the forum and perhaps 20 people posting regularly. No thanks Jack. You should learn something about the USCF system before suggesting us what to do. If you want to help change the USCF, stop advocating more politics.
Curious to see some of the nasty, negative politics I see here. Does the annon poster who suggested the medication believe that we ought to only speculate about asking EB members questions but not do so in real life?
How is speculative questions superior to actual questions that are asked and can be answered?
My question would be why the EB continues to allow lies and personal attacks in the USCF forum? Why hasn’t Mr. Sloan been suspended? Are they waiting until after the election to fix things so some candidates can be eliminated?
I do not. I support Susan Polgar and her team. I urge everyone to vote for them.
More importantly, I support Susan’s principles of positive change. I support being respectful of other people. Those of you who support these nasty, negative attacks don’t.
Is it true that non US residents cannot vote in USCF elections. If this is the case then what can be done about it? I’m a Life member but live in Europe.

Mr. LeMoine, you’ve becoming one of them. Instead of helping to fix the problems, you now support the politicians who put the USCF in this position.
