It’s all about the “Ruling Class” vs. the “Country Class” and the latter outnumber the former by a wide margin. We will take this country back from the elites and their mindless zombies, exemplified by the previous cretinous posts. Obama is the worst President in US history. He’s about as qualified to be President as I am to be WC champion.

What a pitiful video. Extremely clichéd music and lyrics, delivered in a dull monotone; somber-looking kids holding up signs; horrible vindictiveness:
“I’ve got some news: We’re taking names —
We’re waiting now for the judgment day”.
“I am America” implies that anyone not aligned with the Christian Right is not a real American. They are using general dissatisfaction within the electorate during an economic crisis to make people rally behind a jingoist religious-identity agenda.
Susan, I really enjoy your blog. You make chess accessible to everyone, even quasi-chess-illiterate people like me, which is no mean feat. I also like the human-interest stories about chess players and the odd non-chess-related item. But if you want to encourage political discussion, I kindly suggest that you use something that is thoughtful and about the issues as a starting point. By just throwing a divisive video out there (even if you don’t mean to endorse it) and asking your readers if they are for or agaist the current president (rather than what they think about specific issues) virtually guarantees that there is going to be a shouting match in comments rather than a constructive discussion. Also, asking the very vague question whether the US is heading in the right or wrong direction does not stimulate reflection but tends to just bring out general grievances against “the system”.
Wake up America, especially YOU Liberals. This President is destroying this country. The massive debts and spending have to be stopped it is unsustainable. Your kids and my kids and your children’s kids will be paying for it. It is a shame to blindly support a President who is leading us into bankruptcy.

Susan, You are doing an excellent job on your blog. I love chess to death but SOMETIMES it is nice to have political stuff and other off topics in your blog whether I agree or disagree with it. GOOD JOB.
I think as chess players, we should be intelligent enough to make an argument for or against any position without personal attacks and insults.
Even as a chess professional and someone who does not like politics, I try my best to be well informed in a number of fields and not just chess. I have friends who are Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, etc.
I encourage all of you to be the same. I think it is important for all of us to have a wide variety of interests and knowledge. As you can see, I post a large range of topics on my site. If you do not like a particular topic, ignore it 🙂

You said it right. Susan, you have to be specific on issues while inviting views from readers. Otherwise, you are only going to invite politically charged, less on content non-sense garbages from readers.
I am fiercely “independent” American and I believe these tea party fanatics are mostly fringe, ignorant, angry, bigoted racist right wingers whose main problem is that a black guy is ‘President”, they use Taxes, freedom, etc as a cause, but simple analysis will reveal that their main cause is just that, can’t accept a black guy as President.
sure, Obama has made few blunders and errors so far. but not anywhere close to Bush. I really wish Obama and administration can get their act together to do something to stimulate the economy and recovery. Over $1 trillion of stimulus didn’t seem to do much.
of course, Bush blew away over $10 trillion in a needless war and filling friends pockets which essentially started this whole downward spiral. where were these people while he was on a unhindered spending spree while cutting taxes for rich people.
but America is resilient, she will back on her feet and will lead the world on new era of wealth and prosperity, if and only if the smart people in America (and around the world) can really trump these ignorant fanatics and their divisive politics.
I have looked very carefully at all the scientific evidence for over 2 years now. Obama has never been a US citizen. he was not born in USA. Evidence shows he was born in Kenya. All of Kenya says he was born in Kenya and his birth certificate from Kenya has been entered into court records.
Everyone is being stone walled in this country. Obama mother and father were Marxist Communists. His mentor was a member of the Communist party in hawaii. Obama is a Marxist Communist. He is pushing an agenda to ignore the Constitution which is a document that protects people from the power of the government. Soon that will be gone. He is now pushing to abolish the Electoral College so he can steal elections in far away states.
Chicago politics are total corruption. Obama is total corruption. He did nothing to fix the oil leak because he wants a big oil leak so he can use it as an excuse to nationalize the oil industry. Soon all freedoms will be gone. We will live super poor like USSR. When you are poor you have no power and the state has all power.

Obama gives you nothing but he will soon take everything. He wants all the money and power for the rich and he wants USA poor like all 3rd world countries. What made america rich and powerful was FREEDOM. Now we have all our freedoms taken away by the government. Soon we shall be slaves to the gov. Those who disagree will be exterminated.

Obama does nothing to creat jobs via small business. He extends unemployment to keep people dependent on him and vote for him. But once the Constitution is trashed a little more everyone will be thrust into poverty and super dominance of the state over the person.
I have met people who came from russia and USSR and there are no jobs and everyone is super poor. They flee Russia by the millions.
That will soon be America.

This last post is very interesting. Just this afternoon I was aboard a train. In front of me were two gangsters mocking Li-Lo and her spell in gaol and the abuse she was about to receive there. One a black guy and the other a white guy.
Then they turned their attention to Barack Obama, with the black guy declaring him to be an African and definitely NOT an American.
I was a bit surprised. Even more so was that these were non-educated guys drinking beer and just spouting off. But they seemed to get something I didn’t.
