I hope the match will go to 4 games but it may end tomorrow.
Yeah, either Kamsky will end the match tomorrow or he won’t. That’s my prediction.
Shirov for the win.
I think Kamsky’s “grinder” style is perfect for frustrating Shirov’s fiery tactics. I think Shirov gets a draw as White and (if I understand the rules right) Kamsky wins with White in the next game.
Since GM Kamsky is ahead by 1 point, all he has to do to win is draw all reamaing games and he’ll end with a 0.5 lead.
Some will say this is not a good way to play chess but it is safe. I predict a draw today and if I were Kamsky, then I would simply play it safe and play “not to lose.”
Now that he’s in the lead: Safety first, then capitalize upon any mistake Shirov might make.
