California chess politicians fought to split the state. They’re #3 and #4.
Why such a boom in Texas?
You can not keep Texas as one state and split California as two. Sure CA has more people than Texas, but if you were going to consider population, then you would have to normalize or divide the # of chess players in each state by the total population:

You need to re-adjust this list. Michigan and Florida membership numbers should be halved.

What does the US in USCF stand for?
Why are these numbers being published so soon again? Are you trying to make a point?
If so, what is it?
