What will be the pairings? How come this is so much weaker than the European chess leagues?
Pairings and lineups can be found at uschessleague.com. In each division, 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3. Matches are four board and the higher seeded team has draw odds in the playoffs.
The US Chess League has a rating limit for the four active players each week. This is necessary in order to have competitive matches. Otherwise, only the teams with several GMS in their town would be competitive. You certainly wouldn’t see Carolina as a top seed.
