Unyielding Fischer never recovered from Slavic slip-up

Bobby Fischer embodied uncompromising struggle both on and off the chessboard.
In matters of chess politics, he insisted on conditions that he considered fair and necessary. On matters of substance, he was frequently if not usually right.
His unyielding and sometimes unreasonable insistence often caused him to suffer immediate and significant losses. He managed, nevertheless, to march from success to success.
But, in 1992, he committed an act of defiance that even he might have regretted.
At a press conference before his exhibition match with Boris Spassky in war-torn Yugoslavia, he spat on a U.S. State Department letter that threatened him with fines and prison if he played.
He was technically in violation of sanctions that prohibited economic relations with Yugoslavia.
That video image of defiance is still shocking when viewed.
With that act, he crossed his political Rubicon, although it might still have been possible — if he had been willing to compromise — to negotiate a settlement with the incoming Clinton administration.
Fischer was, after all, a hero and still respected — even adored — in many parts of the world.
Instead, he remained an expatriate and died, apparently prematurely, in exile. His fighting spirit — his most admirable strength — contributed to his downfall.

I think so many people think bad of the U.S. for doing this. However, Fischer had a choice and the Clinton administration (as much as I don’t like the Clintons or Democrats, in general) were correct in their actions. They weren’t “picking” on Fischer. And, it’s probably true that something could have been worked out if he would have immediately addressed the situation with the State Dept. or Attorney General at the time.
Instead, he chose not to. It’s sad but I believe both sides (the U.S. and Fischer) ultimately lost in this case. We lost a chess legend. He chose to throw away his homeland. No one gained in this situation.
The rematch could have been played elsewhere. It didn’t have to be played in a war torn area. But, by 1992, I think Fischer was too paranoid and sometimes delusional that his actions away from the chessboard were completely irrational.
I just wonder…why didn’t he ever seek psychiatric help? Didn’t Bobby have siblings? Did anyone ever urge him to get help and he just refused?
Truly, I don’t know the answers to these questions.
There were no winners in this case.
Fischer spat on a U.S. State Dept. letter hahahah!!! Get real!!! Bush spat on The U.S. Constitution and the American people when he implemented The Patriot Act and defiantly in dictorship fashion of a Fidel Castro launched a war on Iraq! Arrogantly in violation with The United Nations! The reason? There are a few, but the most important ones are these. #1 Bush and VP (CEO) Cheney wanted to have an excuse to invade Iraq with their rich oil supply, which is second only to Saudi Arabia. That is why 99% of U.S. forces are in iraq and not in Afghanistan where the real conflict began, because of the fact that Afghanistan’s government gave refuge to Bin Laden the mastermind of the 911 bombings! The other reason is a psychological one. Prez Georgie wanted to out do his father President George Bush Sr. after the Gulf War ended and Bush Sr. didnt capture Saddam Hussein. The Question I have is why cant an American citizen play chess in another country? Boris Spassky played in Yugoslavia and he was not vilified like Bobby!
Hi,
I have red that during sanctions period the chess literuture from Yugoslavia hs been imported to the US.
Were the sanctions obligatory to RJF only. ?
You are completely ignorant of the nature of how the American political system works. President Bush, as Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. military, had every constitutional right to send our military into Iraq. The Patriot Act was upheld by the U.S. Congress, which is the body that passes laws in this nation.
Moreover, the U.N. is a useless organization. The United States does NOT have to, nor ever will bow to the will of the UN. The UN cannot do anything but pass “declarations” that are unenforceable. They are pretty good at passing out food for the needy but they are not helping anything. In fact, the U.S. should kick them out of New York and they can regroup somewhere else.
Lastly, the question was about Fischer and it was under Clinton’s administration that the rematch between Fischer and Spassky occurred.
The Patriot Act was upheld by Congress. Thus, it is perfectly legal whether one agrees with it or not.
Anyway, the question is about Fischer…and has nothing to do with the Iraq war.
Spassky is not nor ever was a U.S. Citizen. So, under the law that the Clinton Administration and Congress in 1992 passed, Spassky was not an American citizen and American law wouldn’t apply to him.
Take a Political Science 101 course. You can actually learn what powers, under the constitution, that any president has. Also read what powers the Congress has.
And that’s the way it is and there isn’t a thing you can do about it. Just write your local Congressman and Senator and vent.
Fischer earned over three millions of dollars with his 92’s combeback (1). Iceland is a nice place to live. According to Human Development Index, Iceland is the most developed country in the world (2). According to Reporters Without Borders, Iceland is the most free country in the world (3). Fischer won his crown in Iceland (4). I think it’s four good reasons for Fischer to live and die there.
Fischer said: “All I want to do, ever, is play chess” (5). Fischer also said: “Let’s play. I’m willing to play anywhere” (5). But Fischer was not authorised to play in Yougoslavia, he did and that led to a conflict with the US government (4). What I find interesting is that USA will apparently send their athletes to Beijing in august of this year (6), while many sources have documented China’s abuses of human rights (7).

The US would not allow Bobby Fischer to play chess in Yugoslavia in 1992, but did allow US airplanes to drop many bombs on Yugoslavia in 1999.
what’s a bit of water/saliva on a paper? Spassky, who was across the same table playing, has been to the US since – without probs from US/France (his new home) etc….so big deal…
a bit of gob out the mouth also constitutes free speech!
cheers to the pompous….would any nation be as flag-waving and pumped up to blow people away as this one, we’d say they were fascists
To Anon. 11:07:00 AM CDT I dont need a political science course but you need to get your facts checked and your IQ! Clinton was elected President in 1992 but wasnt sworn into office until January 20th 1993! The Fischer Spassky Match took place in September 1992. So George Bush Sr. was Commander in Chief when the match took place and signed the Executive oder to arrest Fischer if he played the match in Yugoslavia. Unfortunately I know how the U.S. government works, (see Ken Leah, Bush’s chief campaign contributor who was CEO of Enron corp. the company that swindled the U.S. for over 400 billion dollars, also VP Cheney ex CEO of Halliburton the company that was awarded exclusive contracts for the rebuilding of Iraq after George Bush blew it up!) All that aside why does only the American have to hang when a chess match takes place in a country of political upheaval like Yugoslavia was? I realize Boris Spassky was born in The Soviet Union and now presides in France and was not an American citizen, but does that give him political immunity? They both were playing for the five million dollar prize. The U.N. had sanctions on Yugoslavia during the match, the very organization you say is worthless and who influenced then President Bush to sign the Executive order on Bobby. I realize the topic was not Iraq, but I used this to illustrate how George Bush defied The U.N. and not just America but several other nations to launch his own private war. I would think a war is much more morally wrong than a chess match.
Ahh ya gotta love these flag waving brainless Republicans on this blog. Bush has sent this nation into billions of dollars in debt with his private war, and The Chinese may wind up owning The U.S. These GOP’ers are so arrogant! Here’s how their minds work, example… “The U.S. doesnt have to listen to The U.N. or anybody! We can blow up anybody we want”.
P.S. The reason Bush invaded Iraq was because of their weapons of mass destruction that later Bush admitted they did not possess! And to think The United States is the only country in the history of the world to have used weapons of mass destruction twice! Once in Hiroshima and the 2nd time in Nagasaki.
Actually, it’s a proven fact that Saddam Hussein used Chemical weapon against his own people during the late 1980’s. Chemical weapons are, by definition, “Weapons of Mass Destruction.”
Therefore, to say that Iraq “didn’t have them” is an absurdity because everyone has seen the horrible images of what Hussein done to his own people after using poison gas on them.
But, the issue isn’t the Iraq War. It’s Fischer. As far as Iraq goes, it’s OK to “agree to disagree.” Sounds fair.
Fischer probably could have worked out a good deal immediately after the ’92 match. Neither Bush Sr. nor Clinton were “out to get him.” He broke the law. Now, one can argue that that law was stupid. OK. But, it was the law.
And I find it funny to hear people scoff at the U.S. dropping bombs on Yugoslavia under the Democrat Bill Clinton and now deride President Bush.
If it were left to Democrats, our army would cut in size, we’d bow to the will of the UN, Europe…oh, and the Dem’s have a fine reprsentative in former Pres. Jimmy Carter going to meet with terrorist leaders.
His passport should be revoked.
Democrats are nowadays nothing more than socialists. Liberalism is very similar to religion. Ann Coulter’s book “The Church of Liberalism” is fantastic in showing how silly but frightening the Democrats ideology is.
Well, I can say one thing about Fischer…he was neither a Dem or a Reb….he was sick and needed to be on med’s.
If it is a proven fact that Saddam hussein had weapons of mass destruction then why did your fearless leader George Bush go on television and announce [“Iraq doesnt have weapons of mass destruction,] but America is better off”? Anybody who buys and/or reads an Ann Coulter book is sick and needs to be on meds!
All Dem’s/Liberals hate Anne Coulter because she is a Harvard Law graduate and is a Republican than can back up her arguments with logic and reason….and much (not all) of what she says describes liberalism/Democrats 100%.
That’s why Dem’s hate her. And to say that just because you’re a Republican and would buy an Anne coulter book then you “need to be on meds,” is the response of a child.
I could say the same the of Dem’s…but it’s absurd. In this nation we have a right to choose which party affiliation we belong to.
And Democrats always talke of “Freedom of Thought…” unless it deviates from their warped and most precious liberalism. Sociologically, Liberalism is akin to fundamentalism in that Dem’s/Liberals are so closed minded and dodge the issues because that’s what they’re good at:
Avoiding the issues and simply blaming all of our problems on Republicans.
If you’ve never read Anne Coulter (oh, do you have a Harvard Law degree as she does?), then you only see her opinion through the “lens” of what liberals/Dem’s say.
You should, at least, read her book and form your own opinion. If you disagree so much, then at least you would have gotten your information be reading and not listening to an idiot like Bill Maur or other wild liberals.
Then, base your rebuttals on logic and sound reasoning, rather than irrational emotional outbursts such as “take medication…”
That was such a foolish statement.
The GOP, and President Bush has kept this nation safe. Iraq had chemical weapons and used them on their own people in the 1980’s. Last time I checked CHEMICAL weapons ARE Weapons of Mass Destruction…what planet are you from????
When some claim that President Bush shouldn’t have started this war, consider the following FACTS:
1. FDR (DEMOCRAT) led us into World War II.
Germany never attacked us ; Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost … an average of 112,500 per year.
2.Truman (DEMOCRAT) finished that war and dropped TWO Atomic weapons killing thousands of innocent civilians…and started a war in Korea
North Korea never attacked us
From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost , an average of 18,334 per year.
3.ohn F. Kennedy (DEMOCRAT) started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.
4.Johnson (DEMOCRAT) turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.
This is far more than in Iraq!!!
5.Clinton (DEMOCRAT) went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
Bosnia never attacked us.
He was offered Osama bin Laden’s head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.
In the years since terrorists attacked us , President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya , Iran , and, North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. And the Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking.
But Wait, There’s more!
It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno (DEMOCRAT) to take the Branch Davidian compound.
That was a 51-day operation..
It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his
Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick…for those that remember this or you can simply look it up on the Internet for the story.
We’ve been looking for evidence (and found it) for chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton (DEMOCRAT) to find
the Rose Law Firm billing records!
Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB !
The Military morale is high!
The GOP and McCain will lead this country for the next 4 years. We don’t need the UN and we don’t need to care what our “allies” in Europe think.
Republicans will keep this nation safe far better than ANY Democrat.
And history will prove it just as it proves that more Democrats have led us into silly wars than any Republican president.
It will be so funny when McCain becomes our next president!! And, he will easily defeat either Hillary or Obama….just wait and see.
Respond with logic, not insults….but facts are the most stubborn things…and the fact is: Sen. McCain will win and our nation will be much better off.
And, as I thought…when confronted with logic and historical truth (check every fact I posted regarding Democrats, Wars they’ve started and kept us in (i.e. Kennedy and Johnson in VIETNAM), you dare insult our current president that hase defended our nation during a war that compared to ANY, ANY, ANY war that was run by a Democratic president, are the losest among them all!!!
You Dem’s can’t refut nor rewrite history. The facts I stated are there for the world to see.
You are, as Ann Coulter said, immersed in your religion of Liberalism that you don’te even have the courage to respond.
HOWEVER, do not respond with insults or irrational emotional content.
I want to see every statement you make (such as I did) to be supported by facts, evidence, and logical arguments. Otherwise, your statements are not “arguments” nor anything but illogical emotional outbursts which are so common amongst the liberal, Democratic, brainwashed, “fundamentalist Liberal,” establishment.
You see, post facts and just as Anne Coulter said…Dems cannot answer in a logical manner with constructive, logical, coherent, evidence-supported arguments.
They just say stupid things like “take medication.”
What fools! I don’t even think “fool” can describe such absurd outburts by the “anon” liberal/socialist.
Want to talk about war and previous wars? Then open a history book and see how many wars occurred under a stupid Democrat as president.
I think the numbers speak for themself.
Democrats are such idiots.
Can’t think of a better adjective than “idiot” to think that someone can actually believe the pseudo-religion called “liberalism” and the ideology of the Democrats.
It is so funny….because Sen. McCain will win and you just have to live with it. And, brave men like him have to even defend idiots like you that are brainwashed and, fundamentally, anti-American. Just move to North Korea…..
after a while, you’ll beg to be back to an America with a republican president.
What knaves.
And excuse my typo’s, I was typing fast and apologize for the typos. However, you know exactly what I mean. I’ll proofread my next post for grammatical and spelling errors.
he didnt chose to throw away his homeland he was obligated hello dudeeeee; that law was stupid to begin with!!!!
abywayt instead of crying for what could have been why not remember the positive stuff? or do y like to mesmerize events?, it happened to alekhine, korchnoi, even the mild Karpov??
maybe the phrase sick sad world is true after all, it works for me at least, je.
jv.
I dont care if your home library is full of Ann Coulter books, thats your right and your pleasure. Whatever turns you on. Speaking of Harvard, your mind is functioning at the level of a box of rocks if you believe all this bulls*%#$ the republicans serve up as leadership and moral values. What an oxymoron The GOP party are Godly and have good family vallues, attracting Bible belt ministers like the late Jerry Falwell. The Christians call Jesus Christ ‘The Prince Of peace’, would Jesus bomb Iraq on made up military information that had a good Republican and very good man Colin Powell step down because he was lied to. In The Bible Jesus says it would be easier for a camel to pass through an eye of a needle than for a richman to see the Kingdom of Heaven. Yet the Grand Old Party keeps widenening
the gap between wealty and the working middle class. I don’t see how your party is God fearing and righteous when it caters to the very rich and war mongers who manipulate The Military Industrial Complex to control leaders in foreign governments and get leverage to implement your businesses their. The nitwit
you republicans have for your Presidential nominee’s best asset is he was a POW in Vietnam. He was quoted as saying “Ill always hate gooks”! Thats kind of scary to have a Commander In Chief with that hate fixation mentality. I can empathize with his sufferings but is he the right person for a job that calls for clear decisive judgement? The GOP is supposed to be the mastermind of the economy, well Sen. McCain admitted he knows next to nothing about the economy hahaha!!! Is that good leadership? Maybe if he was President of Germany in WWll!! My last thing I want to say, becuase talking to the elephant party is like talking to a brick wall. Whats so irritating about republicans is they think they know every single thing and their party is The Holy Grail of politics and government, and you people are the ones who always blame The Democrats for your mistakes, not the other way around. Anyone who can say George Bush’s administration is not corrupt is either a liar or a dam fool!
P.S. I despise Bill Maur! But I bet you watch Bill O’Reilly the biggest idiot on television!
I cant even stomach what that moron was rambling on about. I only got through about two paragraphs. Statements like Germany didnt attacks us. Well do you condone Hilter torturing and murdering 6 million Jews!!? There was a very serious theory that Kennedy was assassinated because he wanted to stop the Vietnam War. As for Bill Clinton responding to Milosevic in Yugoslavia, there etnic cleansing going on in 1999, people were being buried alive!! The only way a Republican President would respond to that scenario is if Bosnia had oil assets!!! You mad the assinine ridiculous statement that president Bush crippled Al Queda. HAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!! Al Queda is stronger than before the 911 attacks as has a very strong presence now in Iraq, and not before your fearless played war on Iraq. Theres no talking to an Archie Bunker conservative tavern bum, so I will stop here.
Yet more proof that Ann Coulter’s description of Liberal fundamentalism is correct:
Respond with emotion and irrational, emotion based arguments and think that you’re “proving” your point.
All you’re doing is stating what you PERCEIVE to be the wonderful, “civilization saving” side of Liberal Democrats while just blaming Republicans for all of America’s problems.
Then, you lash out like a cornered wild cat when faced with facts.
You’re brainwashed. Well, in laymen’s terms that is what you’d call it. Personally, I don’t care what you think. I don’t care who you vote for or if you keep believing your church of liberal theology.
I’ll sleep well at night knowing that our next president will be a Republican and will keep our country safe.
I’m not even checking for a response anymore. Respond if you wish and call all republicans any adjective you want. You don’t mean squat to me nor does your opinions.
Liberalism is much akin to a cult.
Goodbye.
“There was a very serious theory that Kennedy was assassinated because he wanted to stop the Vietnam War.”
–have your taken your Zoloft or Prozac lately? Conspiracy theories, especially those linked to the idiot JFK who got America involved in Vietnam….
Oh…but Democrats forget that HE WAS A DEMOCRAT and they often use him as their demi-god.
OK…Pres. Johnson came next (Oh, he was a Democrat!)…but, hmmmm, all the liberal brainwashed idiots forget to find a way to rationlize the fact that it was the Democrats that created and got the USA in the quagmire that was “Vietnam.”
Oh…and, let’s not for the good ol’ redneck Pres. Jimmy Carter who is now meeting with murdering terrorists and has a “Messhiah Complex” that he can actually make the hate filled, Murdering Muslims, suddenly “get along” with the rest of the world???
Carter is the ultimate embarrassment and the true ideological representative of the Democratic Party of 2008.
Say what you will of Republicans, but I don’t see any prominent Republicans (especially ex-presidents) meeting with murdering terrorists!
Democrats…you’re so ignorant and stupid it’s a comedy. Please…keep up your silly anti-Republican arguments because it only helps the Republicans.
My God…it’s going to be a party and more when McCain wins in November.
Democrats are, as Ann Coulter said, brainwashed fundamentalist that live in their “church of liberalism.”
I’m laughing right now at your idiotic, illogical responses.
What are you Ann Coulters whipping boy? Is she the only republican you know? Yeah George Bush kept America safe, especially on 911 LOL.
Like I expected….you can’t respond with rational arguments or even support your liberal theology with any evidence.
Typical Democrats.
Dear Professor of GOP political science! Anytime I respond with rational thought it gets ignored by your self agenda party’s rhetoric, or an Ann Coulter quote. What impresses you so much of about this smug bore? Yeah she went to Harvard and studied political science so she could make millions pumping out her books to lemming GOP’ers like you.
P.S. Barrack Obama went to Harvard too, are you going to vote for him now? LOL
Dick Cheney was told by a reporter recently during an interview, two thirds of the American people are against the war in Iraq. Cheney arrogantly answered “So!” That says it all. A real servant of the people!
P.S. If I have a liberal theology then you conservative dictatorship!
Yes 8 years of Bush Cheney have been impressive! There’s the Enron theft, the unethically awarded contracts to Haliburton, New Orleans being devastated by hurricane Catrina and gets ignored and neglected because Iraq is more important than America. Bush was in denial about global warming. Yes now hes starting to warm to the idea, maybe he’s got some good Cheney contacts in green research $$$$$$$$$ LOL. Now things are looking up were borrowing billions of dollars from China and other countries to finance the war, the housing crises looks just great for the immediate future and gasoline will be 4 dollars a barrel! I think I’ll get my Cheney button and American flag lapel today. hahahahahahahahaha
If Democrats had any brains…they would BE Republicans!
Do you think that Pres. Carter should be off talking to terrorists? You have some really great “respresentatives” in your party.
It’s going to take a lot of “framing” for Democrats to recast Obama’s explanation to San Francisco cafe society that gun ownership and a belief in God are the byproducts of a psychological disorder brought on by economic hardship.
It is an article of faith with the Democrats that they must fool Americans by simulating agreement with normal people. The winner of the Democratic primary is always the candidate who does the best impersonation of an American.
But then, after all their hard work making believe they’re into NASCAR and God, some Democrat invariably slips and lets us know it’s all a big fake-out. They’re like a gay guy trying to act straight who accidentally refers to Brad Pitt as “yummy!”
Obama had been so careful until now, “framing” his message as “change” — rather than partial birth abortion, driver’s licenses for illegal aliens, tax hikes, socialized medicine and abandoning mandatory minimum prison sentences for federal crimes.
His message is “change” — not that his wife has not been proud to be an American for most of her life.
He is for “change” — and don’t mind the crazy racist loon who has been Obama’s spiritual mentor for two decades.
And Clinton is simply a crook.
McCain…all the way.
I contributed to Hillary Clintons campaign. I just brought up Obama because he went to Harvard and I know you feel “real yummy” about that school. So he and Ms Coulter are probably good pals. All I know is when a Clinton was in The Whitehouse the economy was thriving, there were many new jobs and when Bill left office this nation had a huge surplus that Bush quickly fed into the Iraq furnace! VP Cheney went to the Middle East to talk about stabilizing the oil prices. Hmmmm him and Georgie a couple of good Ol boys from Texas are probably on the board of directors. So Im sure the price of gasoline will plummet. So I’ll have to buy a Japanese import that can get the best gas mileage, which really cripples are big 3 American auto makers. Cheney is an old man who may not survive his 1st term. he has had malanoma several times with a very deep lesion the last time it flared up. Not good. His mind is slowing down and his All American sentiments are as phony as a 3 dollar bill! Sen. Cheney is for big business interests not the people of America. The Clintons went to Yale University, Bill a Rhodes Scholar, and guess what Hillary had a higher grade point average than her husband which is what we want a thinking President. We dont need 4 more years of a older model of a cloned George Bush! 4 more years of this kind of government will be devastating to this crippled nation.
Hillary all the way!!! If she does not get the nomination then you have to put your pride outside and do the right thing and vote Obama!
You said:
“Cheney is an old man who may not survive his 1st term. he has had malanoma several times with a very deep lesion the last time it flared up.”
Last time I checked, Cheney survived his first term as VP and will his second. Are you drunk?
–Fact check! VP Cheney has already survived his first term! He does not have melanoma….
But, I know you meant McCain. And you’re correct, he does have melanoma….my only sister died of it. It’s serious and that’s why I say McCain’s VP candidate must, absolutely must, be a strong, younger, leader.
I respect your opinion. But, you still haven’t addressed how you can explain all of Obama’s “slips.” What about the Democrat Jimmy Carter out negotiating with terrorists? You think this makes the Dem’s look good in a party that’s already in a state of civil war?
Explain: Do you agree with Obama when he clearly stated in a talk in that San Francisco cafe society that gun ownership and a belief in God are the byproducts of a psychological disorder brought on by economic hardship?
You’re still not answering the most poignant points of my posts. Just like typical Dem’s….avoid the essence of an issue and use a red herring technique to avoid what I stated were Obama’s weaknesses.
You want to talk politics….answer directly every point I brought up about Obama.
And you know as well as anyone that McCain is not a carbon copy of Bush. He’s differed with Bush on many issues.
but, since you can’t even remember that Cheney has already survived his first term…I am agast that someone with such limited knowledge can actually vote….
You don’t even know anything about who the current VP is!
Amazing. And, you try to talk of politics.
You really need to learn who the current VP is, and then respond to any criticisms of your dear Democratic demi-gods.
I can’t believe it….I’ve been talking to someone who doesn’t even know that VP Dick Cheney has already survived his first term.
Sorry, sir, you’re an idiot. You just proved it more than ever.
Dear moron as you pointed out you knew I meant McCain when I wrote Cheney so grow up and leave it at that. What Obama said was out of fatigue of a long campaign trail and much to do about nothing, but like a typical diehard republican you are frustrated and want to make a case about nonsense because you feel guilty and ashamed that your fearless leader and party has ruined America for a long time to come!!! At least Obama didnt make a brutal blunder and lie through his teeth like Bush Sr did when he said “Read My Lips No New taxes”, and then went ahead and implented new taxes HAHAHA!!! Not so long ago Bush and McCain were having a civil war in the GOP when both were running for president. So theres nothing new about debates, its healthy for the candidates and keeps them sharp. McCain is lucky there wasnt anybody else qualified in the republican party to run for president (just like he isnt qualified), because he’s so dam old he needs a breather or he would have collapsed by now. Yes I am drunk because Im so depressed at how bad Bush has ruined this great nation and it probably is affecting my typing. Sorry Dr Nixon
Oh by the way I forgot to address your comment about my knowledge on who the VP of The Republican party is. Its hard to say actually, because Cheney (Darth Vader), LOL as Hillary referred to Ol Dick once, has Bush on his lap as his dummy, Cheney being Edgar Bergan and Georgie is Mortimar Snerd because Georgie cant even give a speech without staffers giving him a copy at the podium and probably an earpiece, of course along with his teleprompters. Hahahahahaha! Technically Bush is Da prez and Cheney VP but its a dog and pony show.
