This one is fairly straightforward with no need to invest any significant material but it is fun to force his majesty across the board to his doom, isn’t it?
This seems simple now, but I was sure stuck on it for a long time.
f6 and h6 looked too hard to get at quickly so I thought of pushing the king away with bh6+. Then I couldn’t see what to do if Kh7 but it finally hit me.
1.Bh5+ Kxg5 (1…Kh7 2.g6#) 2.Rg1+ Kf4 3.Rg4+ Kf3 4.Qf2#
1. Bh5+ Kh7
2. g6#
1. Bh5+, Kxf5
(if 1. … , Kh7 then 2. g6#)
2. Reg1+,Kf4
3. Rg4+, Kf3
4. Qe3#
1. Bh5+ Kxg5
2. Rdg1+ Kf4
3. Rg4 is mate i think
Bh5+ Kxg5 (or Kh7 g6 mate)
R(e)g1+ Kf4
Nf2 with the point of Nh3 mate
I don’t see a defense
Bh5+ seems to be the answer 🙂
Forced mate by force-walking the black king deep into enemy territory:
1. Bh5 Kg5 (Kh7 2.g6#)
2. Reg1 Kf4
3. Rg4 Kf3
4. Qe3#
1.Bh5+ if 1…Kh7 2.g6+ so 1…Kxg5f 2.Reg1+ Kf4 3.Rg4+ Kf3 4.Qf2 mate !
Bh5+ Kxg5 Rg1+ Kf4 Rh4
There is a nice mate. 1. Bh5+ Kxg5 (Kh7 2. g6#) 2. Rg1+ Kf4 3. Rg4+ Kf3 4. Qe3#.
1.Bh5+ Kh7
2.g6#
or
1.Bh5+ Kxg5
2.Reg1+ Kf4
3.Rg4+ Kf3
4.Qe3#
Bh5+
Was it Blackburne who said, “Always check, it might be mate”?
1. Bh5+ Kxg5
2. Reg1+ Kf4
3. Rg4+ Kf3
4. Qe3#
1. Bh5+ Kxg5 (1.. Kh7 2.g6#)
2. Reg1+ Kf4
3. Rf1+ Kg5
4. Rhg1+ Kxh5
5. Rxf5+ Kh4
6. Qf2+ Kh3
7. Rh5+ 1-0
1 Bh5+!!! Kh7 2 g6 mate
1 Bh5+!!! Kxg5 2 Reg1+ Kf4 3Rg4+ Kf3 4 Qe3 mate
1. Bh5+ Kxg5 (if Kh7, g6#)
2. Rg1+ Kf4
3. Rg4#
This one is fairly straightforward with no need to invest any significant material but it is fun to force his majesty across the board to his doom, isn’t it?
1. Bh5+ Kxg5 (1… Kh7 2. g6#) 2. Reg1+ Kf4 3. Rg4+ Kf3 4. Qf2#
White wins with Bh5+
1) Bh5+, Kxg5 (Kh7 leads to 2. g6++)
2) Re1-g1+, Kf4
3) Qf2++
1. Bh5+ Kh7 2. g6++
1. Bh5+ Kxg5 2. Rg1+ Kf4 3. Rg4++
There is the prosaic mate that follows 1. Bh5+.
If 1… Kh7, then 2. g6#
If 1… Kxg5, then 2.Reg1+ Kf4
3. Rg4+ Kf3 4. Qe3#
Lucymarie
1.Bh5 + Kxg5
2.Reg1+ Kf4
3.Rg4+ Kf3
4.Qf2+
1. … Kg7
2.g6

Bh6+ Kh7 g7# 😛
The other way I figured out more quickly
Bh6+ Kxg6 Rg1+ Kf5 Rh5#
