As I stated in one of my posts yesterday, I would like to give recognition and promote chess clubs from around the country. If you own, operate or are a member of a local chess club, please feel free to send me information about your club. I would be happy to post it here.

Way to go Angelo! Good luck with your club!
IM Young has a pretty cool club. If you live in Chicago, you should visit it.
IM Young is also a pretty cool person. If you live in Chicago, you should visit him (at his club)… 😉
IM Young should hire Ron Washington who is a homeless expert and long time fixture in Chicago chess to help manage the club. Ron had his own club many years ago and knows more of the Chicago chess community than anyone else. He has given more chess lessons than all of the other teachers combined and many of his students have become experts themselves.
Yeah I bet theres a ton of overhead laying around, waiting to put people on the salary.
Angelo is a great guy and has a great reputation downstate Illinois also. Keep up the great work Angelo.
Angelo has done a great service to chess in Chicago by starting TMCC. There have long been a number of small, local clubs, each open one day a week, and most of them are excellent, don’t get me wrong. But a great city needs a great club for the whole city that’s open several days a week.
Plus TMCC will be the home of the Chicago Blaze!
Angelo and the TMCC’s contribution to Chess in Chicago and Illinois cannot be overstated!
Having the only bricks and mortar space wholly devoted to chess puts TMCC as the premier chess spot in the state.
best chess regards,
Brad
Yes I’m sure parents would love to know that a homeless person, regardless of being a Chicago fixture and expert, being at a club where their kids are at. And a homeless person will know how to market to parents of scholastic kids or to adults that have $$$.
Get real. The club is doing just fine especially after Angelo kicked out the wierdo’s and lowlifes that were hanging around the place.
He is making something where others have failed and he will continue to shine as long as he puts forth his efforts and works with the community.
I’m glad to hear it will be the home to the Chicago Blaze which just adds another great attraction for people to come visit the club.
Looking forward to moving downtown as soon as the house sells and visiting this club.
It is unfortunate that such a large city as Chicago has so few clubs, even still, eager to try this one out.
