The strongest women chess event ever starts July, 26th!
The traditional female super-tournament “North Urals Cup” opens the doors of it’s 6th edition on July, 26th 2008 in Krasnoturinsk (Yekaterinburg region, Russia) and will grab the attention of the chess spectators worldwide until August, 3rd 2008. 8 women from 8 countries will fight for $ 15.000 provided by the sponsors: Bogoslovsky brickmaking plant, LLC “StroyBaz”, industrial trade centre “YASA” LLC “Centre of Informational Technologies” with the support of Bogoslovsky Aluminium Smelter.
This year the organizers, Vice-president of FIDE, Honorary President of the Russian Chess Federation Andrey Selivanov and the President of Sverdlovsk Chess Federation Anatoly Sysoev under the patronage of the Governor of Sverdlovsk region E. Rossel, amaze the chess fans with the strongest line-up ever, bringing the average rating up to 2520 and 19th FIDE category!

There can’t be any Polgar participating, since Judit doesn’t play in women only tournaments, and Susan and Sofia are retired or semi-retired.
