by December 31, 2010 (January 2011 FIDE list), who do you think will be the #1 player in the world? Will it be
– Still one of the big 3: Anand, Kramnik or Topalov
– The young guns: Carlsen, Radjabov or Karjakin, etc.
– The others: Mamedyarov, Aronian or Morozevich, etc.
– Someone else?
Who will be the next player to cross the 2800 barrier?

GENE SIMMONS
Magnus Carlsen!!!
Definitely Magnus Carlsen. He is going to be great (even more so than he already is)!
When Bobby Fischer passed, and with Kasparov doing other things, I began wondering the same thing. Who will be the next great one? I remember Spassky’s comment when World Champion: he called himself the best among equals, and the same thing seems to exist at the upper levels today. Anyone can have a brilliant streak and come out on top, or just as likely have a ho hum tournament and get buried in the middle or bottom.
Carlsen’s youth is on his side here, and he is pushing himself to consistent excellence. I would anticipate that he will simply get better.
Carlsen is already preforming at a 2800 level, and he is improving rapidly. I think he will be top 3 at then end of this year and # sometime before 2011. In my opinion he is our next giant.
It has to be either of Anand, Kramnik, Carlsen, Aronian or Karjakin. Probably chances are in this order.
I bet for the young guns.
I think Bobby Fischer was the best chess player who ever lived. Now I think it is Garry Kasporov.
After him, I think Magnus Carlsen will break the 2800 barrier.
Carlsen’s TPR of the last 30 games has been 2792.
I say no more…
Magnus Carlsen +1
Maggy! #1
Anand and kramnik, all the youngsters still a long way to catch these two. when you are attacking and nothing to lose,it is easier to play than defend a tough position, when u aren’t playing well.I think carlsen needs to sharpen more to be called next champion etc !!
King Magnus!
He will let the other be fools in his court!
Not us.
But all the Top 100 knows who Vishy is!
Vishy lost Radjabov, but his way of playing, check how daringly he attacked Radjabov, just tried to “surprise” the opponent

Also, Just remind your self the exiting game of Anand with Kramnik. Here some said, Anand was better.

With these experiences, lets hope the Anand the real genius (along with Susan) will soon know, whom to estimate how much. Lets wish the nice “super sportsman” & check in the next tourny.
Judit!
Radjabov will cross the 2800 barrier next
