Glad to see that the national anthem was played to kick off a chess event…just as it is at other sports events such as baseball, football, etc. I think this shows chess is growing a lot amongst the young people in America, thanks in large part to GM Polgar’s wonderful work with children and chess!
And, my salute to all of our troops around the world defending America and western civilization against terrorism and vile dictators…thank you. My years in the army were amongst the happiest in my life.
And happy chess to all!
