Why does the picture at http://www.chessbase.com/news/2005/fischer59.jpg
show the squares with a different color than what is displayed here?
I think it’ll go for over $100K.
About a month ago I attended a tournament at the Marshall Chess Club in NYC and I was a little sad to see that the chess table where Capablanca played some matches and later on Fisher used to play a series of famous games was just being used as storage. The table was actually hidden under the numerous boxes of baper and multiple open water bottles on top of it. I think items like this should be donated to museums if the owners can’t take proper care of them. Just my 2 cents.
Call Rex, tell him another Fischer – Spassky table is available.
He can put it in his personal collection next to his original copy of the Gutenberg Bible, the original Ark of the Covenant, the crashed spaceship from Roswell, and the bones of Michael Jackson.
not one of the three fischer vs spassky chess boards for the games in Iceland where made from wood,
