Hou and Lahno (Women’s World Champion and Women’s World Blitz Champion)
After a strong start, the reigning WWC Yifan Hou was able to fend off Lahno and T. Kosinstseva the rest of the way to win the Rostov Women’s Grand Prix.
Here are some interesting statistic:
– No player was undefeated. T. Kosintseva was undefeated until the final round when she lost to Galliamova.
– Every player scored at least 2 wins except for Kosteniuk who did not win any game.
– As usual, there are a lot of decisive results and fighting games.

Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Alexandra Kosteniuk it is the best player and now!!!
My girls came in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th places!!
Humpy’s final chance to make any impact in the women’s game comes at the World Championships. Hou’s confidence must be soaring,as is her rating. Humpy seems to be on the way down,or at least stagnant.
I still feel that Humpy has at least 45 percent chances vs Hou at the coming WC. Should be an exciting match.
