Anand survived Kramnik and earned a draw. I believe he got into a Kramnik home preparation. Grischuk had a very dangerous attack against Aronian. But he was very low on time and they repeated moves. Morozevich played a very nice game and defeated Svidler to get back to even score. He could be leading the World Championship if he did not blunder and lost against Kramnik yesterday. Leko had a good game but probably not enough to do serious damage. But he pushed hard and almost lost. He hung on for 100 move draw.
Standings after 3 rounds:
1-2 Anand, Kramnik 2.0 points
3-6 Leko, Morozevich, Grischuk, Gelfand 1.5
7-8 Aronian, Svidler 1.0

I don’t understand why you are so much biased against Kramnik. Do you have any personal issues with him ? Any bad memories ?
He had beaten mighty Kasparov in a world title match without losing a single game. He defended his title against Leko (one of the most solid players of all time) by tieing the match at the very last game. He had bad health conditions during that match. Then he crushed wonder boy Topalov, by giving him a free point in a white game during classical games. He also crushed him in rapid games to defend his title.
Yesterday he played against Morozevich, he played many novelties. 8) 0-0 and he is asking Morozevich to grab the second pawn. He is doing this in a world championship tournament. And Moro is not taking this chance. Then he sacrifices material by 13) exd5. Moro accepts it and loses the game badly. Yes he blundered but he had already lost the game before that, and in his own territory of fully tactical games. Now you say “If he had not blundered in yesterday’s game he would be leading the tournament”. Logically true, but unsound…
Yesterday he gave a very difficult time to Anand by playing Petroff against him. Anand suffered a lot. And you have claimed that Kramnik’s style is not as exciting as Tal and Shirov. This is definetely biased.
Your hero Topalov is dead. Find yourself somebody else.
I am sorry but you should know my position before making a statement like that. How many times do I have to say the same thing over and over again? You post is quite obnoxious.
Kramnik IS one of my favortite players. I learn a lot from his game. I know him a long time. I have NOTHING against him.
It does not matter what I say, there is no possible way I can please everyone. I post as I see it, not to please people from one side or the other. This is my blog. People want to know my opinion, not what people want me to say.
Best wishes,

Hi Anon,
Kramnik play is not so fascinating as Tal, Alechin, Shirov or Topalov. It is true. What is biased here ?
Kramnik is having good sport results but his games are not exciting. There were such a players i.e. WCC T. Petrosian, W. Smyslov.
Morozevich has blundered, it is the fact, and due to that Kramnik won. What is here biased ?. May be you Anon are biased to Kramnik. The fact that he played novelty 0-0 it is laboratory achievement not on board finding. It is not exciting, the morozevich play is exciting. The same game vs Anand which has to played vs preanalysed position. What have you found fascinating in Kramnik play ? That the Anand survived, that is exciting. Exciting it is that what you are doing and finding on board not at home with computer and supporting team.
It is all.

Pony, sry to tell u bu Smyslov games wernt boring at all!
he was a specialist in all fields, specially endings, exsciting was seeing a 100 move game even thou it was not perfect, or seein g the world champion trying to win the game when we all knew it was a draw positionm, and it was against ANand!
why cant we just enjoy chess without complicating it????
its a game after all, well maybe im being biased on this comment, Jb.
have a nice day . susan are u flighing over to mex city or taking a cruise, id love to take that cruise over with irina and larry on january to the bahamas, aint that more exciting???
svidler 1- 0 boris worn out.
aronian 1- 0 leko égal.
kramnik and and both draws.
last time i give predictions.sy.
I have not written that Smyslov games are boring.
His games are full of harmony. He is the extended Capablanca :-).
We were discussing fascinating style of play and here the other style players are coming Alechin, Kasparov, Topalov, Tal.

Pony,
How can you be so sure that 8)0-0 was home preparation ?
Even it was home preparation, it does not matter. Only shows that Kramnik prepared better than Morozevich.
There were so many games won by Kasparov due to home preparation. According to your reasoning Kasparov was not a good player just because he prepared so well at home using computers and his team. This is so naive.
Anon,
it is your question
‘How can you be so sure that 8)0-0 was home preparation ?’ I will answer it by your sentence 🙂 ‘This is so naive.’ – to ask for that.
For me fascinating is that what is real not that what is prepared, (prearanged) at home.
Only the real situation is showing the supremacy of the player. The computer novelty shows the advantage of the home preparation.
That what is happening in chess is very sad for me and because of that I am for Fischer Random Chess.
