This is why the knockout system doesn’t lend credibility to the world championship title. Unfortunately FIDE screwed up by allowing this terrible format. Kosteniuk is not one of the top 5 women player currently. Humpy, Hou Yifan and Stefanova are all way better than her. She’s not even the best in Russia. She’s only #3 in her own country.
Pity Alexandra Kosteniuk lost, but Zhukova does very well lately.
She will be a grandmaster soon 🙂
