Leinier Dominguez, the best Cuban player since Capablanca, is an extremely solid player. He is a rock. He rarely loses and he also did not lose a single game in the first 10 rounds of Corus. But that changed when he faced the Norwegian wunderkind Magnus Carlsen. Magnus once again shows why he is the #1 player in the world with rating of 2800+.

Shirov and Kramnik just drew. Interesting final position. I thought, after the queenside pawns were liquidated, White could win with his remaing pawn and knight against two pawns, but I guess I need to take a longer look at the position- it must be a known textbook draw.
What a wonderful display by the kid! Every move makes sense and looks logical at hindsight. Brilliant.
Yup… Carlsen is the best. If you don’t count the game against Kramnik, he is the real victor of this tournament.
Dominguez played excellently, then went astray in time trouble.
Whooopee.
Nobody has patience today.
Go games used to take days to complete (some still do, in Japan).
There’s an opera in China which is performed over two weeks.
I get no appreciation as a spectator from watching someone fall apart because of time trouble.
It’s as interesting as watching a crash in a car race.. come to think of it, that’s why people watch those, too!
I guess that Giri game was great too, huh?
What’s a real victor if you count out the losses? Very strange. At the moment we just have two leaders. Both played ver well. If you still want to compare them you stumble over the win of Kramnik in their game, Kramnik having black …
Like I said two leaders.
Quit the fanboiiism. Carlsen lost to Kramnik and he beat Kramnik in London. They all count and they are both two of the world’s greatest players. If its Carlsen OR Kramnik who wins this tournament, it will be great for chess.
