The number 1 best special chess moment was Sunday. My birthday. I am still alive and playing chess every day. Hooray.
Chess may not be getting better but I sure am having more fun every day playing chess. With the great chess blogs like here and the online chess games to play and watch chess has never been better.
I also have great expectations for a huge chess revival in USA under Susan’s great efforts today.
My new number one best chess event of 2007 will be if Susan, Paul, Randy and Mikhail win the USCF EB election coming up.
1. Anand #1 in FIDE ratings. 2. Carlsen’s great performance in Morelia/Linares. 3. Superb Kramnik in Amber tournament – specially the blinfold part. 4. Anand-Carlsen in Linares. 5. Kramnik’s grinding wins in Corus. 6. Ivanchuk replacing Radjabov in Morelia/Linares on a very short notice. 7. Radjabov proving his worth in Corus. The return of the King’s Indian Defence. 8. Anand’s charity simul on ICC. He’s a classy guy! 9. Chessvibes providing chess fans with video material. 10. Morozevich and Ivanchuk for their attitude. Both bring colour to each event they participate in.
