A very pretty pin on the black queen allows white to play Nd6 with the multiple threats:
1. Nd6 h6
On Bg4 blocking up the g-file, white just forks the queen and king with Nxf7. If black takes at c3, white mates with Nxf7, and the capture at d6 allows Qxe5#. Finally, black can protect f7 with the rook, but then white plays Nxf7+ followed by Qxe5 to mate on the next move. Continuing:
Nh6 doesn’t quite work. Black can protect it’s knight by Rf8 I think. Nxd6 seems to be the answer. The Queen cannot take the knight because it’s pinned to the king by white’s queen. If … Nxd6 then Qxe5 mate. Really with any defensive move by black they lose their queen at minimum and likely it’s mate in short order in any case.

If QxQ, NxN#!

3. Qe5 and mate will follow soon.
1. Nd6 Rf8 (Nd6 2. Qe5#)
2. Nf7+ Rf7
3. Qe5+ Rf6 (or Rg7)
4. Qf6# (or Qg7#)

1.Nxd6 ! wins. Black loses his Q or is checkmated (2.Nd6xN )
(Mathur)
That should be “Sachdev” – not “Tania” …
PS: Nxd6 looks pretty devastating
Nh6 wins.
Nxd6
Nh6 gets taken, but Nxd6 wins on the spot with two different mating threats.
Nxd6 wins!
Nxd6 looks like a killer, threatening mate (Nxf7#), while removing one of the black queen’s key defenders.
I don’t have time to explore this any further, but I don’t think much more analysis is required here.
Re: Kerry Liles, obsessive much?
Re: Snow Drops. What is a Snow Drop? Snow Flakes I have heard of.
Re: Tania, she cool, she sweet, she really fine to meat.

Hey Kerry Liles, instead of nitpicking, why don’t you solve the darn puzzle? Nxd6, duh.
Nxd6 (Qxc3 Nxf7++) (Rf8 Nxf7+ Rxf7 Qxe5 Rg7 Qxg7++)
N:d6 wins.
N:d6 wins.
Nxd6 (Qxc3 Nxf7++) (Rf8 Nxf7+ Rxf7 Qxe5 Rg7 Qxg7++)
1. Nxd6
I would prefer Nxd6 rather than Nh6? Seems more debilitating.
1. Nd6: wins at once.
I wonder what process could have guided the Anon who suggested 1. Nh6. How would could one look at Nh6 without seeing that 1. Nd6 was better?
