SEA Youth Chess Championship 2009 tees off

Nhan Dan Online – The 2009 Open Southeast Asian Age-Group Chess Championship kicked off yesterday in Hue.
The competition draws the participation of 180 Vietnamese players and 80 international players from Iran, Australia, Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore and Indonesia.
Players at the age of 8, 10,12, 14, 16, 18 will compete on the Swiss system basis in three events: standard, rapid and blitz chess.
Vietnam sets the target of securing from 60 to 70 golds to occupy the first position at the championship.
The tournament will conclude on June 14.
