The 1st annual Ruy Lopez International Festival takes place from March 16-25 in Zafra, birthplace of Ruy Lopez.
The Festival will consist of three activities:
1. A Premier Tournament with:
Ponomariov, Sargissian, Sokolov, Granda, Manuel Perez Candelario, Hou Yifan and Antoaneta Stefanova (March 17-23)
2. A Children’s Tournament and “Linex” Youth in the active chess class will have three laptop computers as prizes for the winners in the under 18, under 14, and under 10 (March 17-18).
3. The Ruy Lopez Open active chess tournament where all the games will be played in this order: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5. This event will have a total of 12,000 Euros.
