Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Why revised? No worries though, they will meet in the final.
Too bad since JP would kick that Chinese girl’s butt. Women’s World Champion? Humpf.
Why isn`t Kramnik on the list?!
Interesting question about Kramnik not being on the list. Kramnik certainly qualified to compete in the World Cup due to his high FIDE rating, if nothing else. Autumn is going to be very busy, especially for Russian chess players playing in the Superfinal of the the Russian Chess Championship, but other Russians in that tournament will be playing at the World Cup despite the great lack of rest between the 2 events. I even read on one chess website that the timing of the Russian Superfinal was moved up just so that Kramnik would be able to play at the World Cup!! But I guess that wasn’t good enough for Kramnik. In any case, the format of the World Cup is such that whoever wins, as deserving as they may be, is essentially the winner of a crap shoot. Maybe that is one of the reasons Kramnik is not playing.

hi,Lucymarie
thanks for your comment, you`ve got a point there, thats probably
also the reason why Aronian and Carlsen don`t play either, just imagine 3 of the top 5 players won`t play in the next World Cup!!
Also, from the top 10 Nakamura and Topalov aren`t playing either!!
