I am sorry to say that my beautiful idea does not work due to more than one missunderstanding of this problem. I even failed to compose a better problem from this position that would fit my elegant solution, but my efforts compleatly failed.
So now I would go for the simple move Bxf6 right away.
Maybe I got drunk by the former Whiskey problem and got even happier thinking that this was only a simple matter of picking off all black pieces one by one with the white rook.
And here in my third posting wich is’nt a hastely written as my fist comes the two letters missing in the firt line of my first.

If we could see the final result of our writings, and also be able to edit and change them, just as on any “wiki” we would not be disturbed by a tripplet of stupid postings like mine!
Rather 1.Bxf6! as white’s dark squared bishop is untouchable. [If 1…gxf6 2. Qxh6 Qh7(only move.) 3.Qxh7#] After 1.Bxf6 the threat of 2. Qh6! now is “severe.”
If after 1. Bxf6, the black queen moves to make room for the king: Such as: 1…Qf7 or Qf8 then 2. Qxh6+ Kg8(only move)3. Qh7#. Or 1…Qe8 2. Qh7+ Kg8 (only move) 3.Qh7+ Kf8 (only move)4. Qh8# Or 1…Qh7 2. Bxh7 and it will be over soon as 2…Kxh7 3. Rxg7+ Kh8 (only move) 4.Qxh6#
This leaves only one other move for black that will not lead to checkmate in the next few moves, after 1. Bxf6, and it is to give the “spite” check, 1…Rd1+ 2.Qxd1(only move)and still black can’t take on the bishop on f6. If 2…gxf6 3. Qc2! with only a few more moves before checkmate. So instead black must play 2…Rf8 and now the dark squared bishop can retreat on the a1-h8 diagonal and black does, in fact, now, look “even worse.”
And here comes the “s” that was missing in my previous lines mostly due to my bad keyboard. My bad english spelling I have trouble correcting myself, but I cinceraly apologice for all the trouble you may have reading it.
Thank you chessdoctor, confirming that i got back to the track again. But what i really need is a shrink. But since i can’t afford one i’ll now go right out in the snow to my nearest shop for a 6-pack of beer since the clock has passe 8 am and i prefear 2.8 % pilsener rather than strong pills when i have trouble to put myself to sleep.
Susan: A special link to all your published puzzles it’ll be a great idea for a good training weekend. That way one don’t have to browse all the site and will save some time.
b After 1. Bxf6, what about 1. … Be3 ? I think White must continue by taking the g7 pawn and winning Black’s Q in exchange for R and B. Then White must use his remaining B and Q to try to mate or to win at least a R and B from Black. During this process Black will have the opportunity of playing Rd1+ which has the potential disadvantage of leaving his R on b8 unprotected. It all seems very complicated and lengthy!
I look severe.
And after Qxh6 followed by Bxf6 it looks even worse.

I am sorry pelle, but, 1.Qxh6 is not so good.

hi all!
I would go for: Bxf6 Rd1 Kh2 Rxb1 Qxh6 Qh7 Bxg7 Kg8 Qe6 mate
Have a nice weekend!

After 1.Bxf6 Rd1+ 2. Kh2?? White loses: 2…Bg1+ 3. Kh1 (3.Kg3 ? gxf6+ 4.Qg6 Qxg6+ 5.Bxg6 Bd4 6.Bc2 Rd2 7.Rh7+ Kg8)3…Bd4+ 4.Qxd1 Bxf6 5.Re2 Rd8 6.Qc1 Qb3 7.Kh2 Bg5 8.Qe1 Qg8
Bxf6 seems obvious.. inquiring…
1. Bxf6! (1. Qxh6+? gxh6 2. Bxf6+ Qg7
3. Bxg7+ Kg8 4. Ba2+ Rd5 $1 5. Bxd5+ cxd5 6. Be5 Bc5 7. Rg7+ Kf8 8. Rc7 Be3 9. Rc3 d4 and Black is better) 1… Rd1+ 2. Qxd1 (2. Kh2?? Bg1+ and wins) Rf8 (2… gxf6 3. Qc2) 3. Ba2 Bd8 4. Rxb7 Bxf6 5. Bxg8 Rxg8 6. Qc1 and wins.

I tried
1. Qxh6+ gxh6
2. Bxf6+ Qg7
3. Rxg7 Rg8
4. Rh7#
if
3. … Rd7
4. Rg4+ Rg7
5. Rxg7 Rg8
6. Rh7#
I’m stumped. Nobody is getting this right so far, IMHO.
Qxh6 Pxh6
Bxf6+ Qg7
Bxg7+ Kg8
Bh6 black anything
