Registration for the 2nd Millionaire Chess Open is now open!
The breakdown of entry fees is as follows
Entry fee:*
Up to June 30, 2015 = $1250
Up to September 30, 2015 = $1500
Up to October 7, 2015 = $2000

Millionaire Chess is proud to announce the Millionaire Chess Global Satellite Qualifiers, a series of qualification tournaments that will give chess players from all over the world a chance to fulfill their dream of playing in the highest stakes chess tournament in history. The satellite events will give chess aficionados the opportunity to win entry into the 2nd Millionaire Chess Open which will be held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas from October 8-12, 2015. The prize fund will once again be $1,000,000.
The satellite qualifiers will take place wherever in the world there are organizers with solid histories of running tournaments and promoting chess. MC shares in the vision of building the following of the game worldwide, and to showcase its powerful intellectual benefits to everyone, young and old.
It is the goal of Millionaire Chess to help bring the game of chess to the masses by elevating its profile as the world’s greatest board game. Chess is synonymous with deep planning, foresight and brilliance, and MC believes this brilliance should be rewarded. Chess is played in over 180 countries, and MC wishes to expand that global popularity with exciting events in destination capitals around the globe. The first MCO brought 560 players from 44 different countries. MC hopes to expand that reach to over 80 countries at its next event.
RULES for being an organizer of MC satellites events
Tournament organizers who wish to host MC satellite events must contact MC at satellite@millionairechess.com. MC will conduct a rigorous approval process to establish the history and credibility of the participating organizer. Once approved, the organizer’s name, location and event details will be listed on the MC website. Only events listed on the MC site will be officially considered part of the MC satellite program. MC cannot vouch for copycat satellite events not listed on its website.
To be considered part of the MC Global Satellite Qualifiers, organizers:
Must be an affiliate/member in good standing with their national federation.
Must have already organized a minimum of 8 Category C or higher rated tournaments (minimum 50 players each) directed by certified directors or licensed arbiters and registered via USCF TLA, FIDE or their respective national federations.
Must agree to follow MC rules regarding sandbaggers.
Must agree to follow MC rules regarding electronic devices and cheating
Must list clear rules and conditions about each satellite event on their listing on the MC website. MC must be in agreement with said rules.
The organizer agrees to assume all risk associated with the satellite event. The organizer will accept all legal responsibilities for handling the event, including any and all disputes that arise as a result of the satellite event . Millionaire Chess will not be held liable for any mistakes or misrepresentations made by organizers or their satellite events.
Must provide all the relevant details of the winner of their satellite tournament to MC support immediately upon the conclusion of the satellite event. MC will provide confirmation to the winner proving they have been registered into the 2nd MCO within 5 business days.
Must agree to split the profit 80/20 for the first $1K collected. (This is a risk on MC’s part to help defer expenses for the organizer). MC will receive 30% on the additional revenues above $1000.
Must agree to revert back to a regular tournament (Non-MC Qualifier) if the minimum amount of $1000 per MC ticket offered is not collected in entry fees.
Must pay MC a one-time non-refundable application fee of $100.
Program begins on January 1, 2015 and ends on Aug. 31, 2015.
Must have a website.
Must use Jumbula to handle online registration payments.
RULES for participants of MC satellite events
It is the responsibility of every participant of the MC satellite event to be aware of all rules and conditions of their respective tournaments.
Each player is allowed to win 1 entry only.
If a player who wins a satellite event chooses not to play, that player will be refunded their original entry amount paid to enter the satellite event.
A transfer fee of $200 will be charged to anyone wishing to transfer their spot.
Each non-winning entrant who plays in an MC satellite tournament will receive a 5% discount on the entry fee to the 2nd Millionaire Chess Open if they choose to participate.
Each participant understands that Millionaire Chess will not be held liable for any disputes, accidents and/or points of contention during the satellite events.
The organizer of a satellite tournament will reserve the right to limit the number of entries into the Millionaire Chess Open to 1.
In case the satellite event is not capable of running as planned, the organizer of the satellite event reserve the right to terminate, cancel or modify the existing event.
Millionaire Chess reserves the right to refuse entry to any player who has been clearly determined to have won that place through deceitful means.
