1.Rc8 and i cant see any defence
the queen pin on e6 presents an opporntunity.
1 Rc8! if Rxc8
2 Qxe6+ with mate to follow.
Rc8 looks strong to me
1. Rc8 looks good
Looks like 1. Rc8 wins in all lines.
1… Rxc8 is met with the obvious 2. Qxe6+
1… Nc6, or 1 Nd7 are both met with 2. Rxa8 Rxa8 3. Qxe6+.
And 1… Kf1 or Kf2 is met with 2. Rxe8 Kxe8 3. Qxe6+
Actually after 1.Rc8 – Nc6
White doesn’t play 2.Rxa8? instead he plays:
2.Qxe6+ and Black cannot take the White queen because of the pin on the 8th rank! 🙂
2…Kh8 3.Qxe8#
This forces Black to play:
2…Kf8 3.Qe7+! – Kg8 4.Qxe8#
So, after 1.Rc8 Black must take the rook:
1…Rxc8 2.Qxe6+ – Kf8 [on 2…Kh8 3.Qxc8#] 3.d7+! – axb4 4.dxc8Q#
My thoughts 🙂
