Jenna Haggar (South Dakota) participated in the first ever Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls in Fort Lauderdale in 2004. Six years later, she is running for the South Dakota State House of Representatives, District 15 Sioux Falls!
Best of luck Jenna! I am very proud of you!

Wow! Good luck Jenna. I would vote for you if I am in SD.
I’ll vote for her if she is not a Tea-bagger.
Susan, am I right in understanding that you wish her the “best of luck” just because she happened to play in your tournament? Or are you really in agreement with her right-wing politics? (Although she claims to be “independent”, her strong right-wing Republican biases are well known; for example:

I have no idea if she is on the right wing, left wing, or chicken wing. It is up to the people in her district to decide, not me. I have framed letters in my office from President Bush, Hillary Clinton, Schumer, Pataki, Spitzer, Bloomberg, Wiener, etc. What does that make me? 🙂
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
Tea-bagger is a disgusting sexual slur. You should be ashamed to use it. No one will take your ideas seriously if you can’t express yourself without making ad hominem attacks.
My children were honored to play in local, regional, national and international Chess Tournaments. They never questioned their opponents’ race, nationality, religion, ethnic or POLITICAL persuasion. Right wing, left wing, and yes, perhaps “chicken wing” ;), they were all there. WHO CARES??? They were interested in sitting across from honest, intelligent people interested in a challenging game of chess. Thank you Susan for being a role model to my daughter, Jenna Haggar, and to hundreds of other girls. (wish those commenting here were brave enough to list their names…when you choose to remain anonymous it is quite easy to make stupid comments!)
