FIDE awarded Armenian chess player GM title
FIDE Congress, which was held in Halkidiki, Greece, awarded Artur Chibukhchian with the title of grandmaster. Vahagn Khachatryan got the title of FIDE Arbiter, Armenian Chess Federation reports.
It’s worth mentioning that many Armenian chess players attend various international championships. Let’s hope that soon other Armenian chess players will also be awarded GM titles.

Nowdays GM titles are given like free candy to kids.
yeah, the kids who beat your arse hands down while playing nintendo.
The GM title is still very significant, and can’t be downplayed by pithy comments.
Armenia is a major chess force these days, led by super-GM Aronian who will (I predict) become only the 6th player ever to reach 2800 ELO.
