Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
This is exciting, Kramnik and Carlsen.
If Carsen had listened to Kasparov and played the right opening (e4), the score would now be 8 1/2 to 6 1/2. Kramnik basically has Carlsen’s point. Carsen is the one who really did better against the rest of the field, really winning this tournament even if the score does not show it.
If you ignore the fact that I didn’t play in this tournament, I am leading.
On a serious note, Carlsen needs to finish ahead of Kramnik since he loses the tiebreaker.
I have to say I’m rooting for Kramnik. I like his attitude a lot. But I have to say I like Carlsen too and it would be great to for him to win such an important tournament. I would love to see them have to play each other in a tiebreaker.
There are no tiebreakers in Corus. They share places. Period.
Two great players. If there is justice, then they could share first and I would be satisfied.
I am well aware that there are no tiebreakers at Corus. I still would love to see one.
