Another pretty little mating problem where the goal is to find the shortest mate. Unlike yesterday’s puzzle, the distraction comes on the second move. I fell for 2.Bd5, but eventually found the same mate 2 moves later:
1. Bf7 Kf6
2. Bg8! Kg6
3. Qf7 Kh6
4. Qh7#
Mate that I see right away is: Bf7+ Kf6 Bg8+ Kg6 Qf7+ Kh6 Qh7#
Hopefully I saw the shortest one unlike last time :'(

Pretty straight-forward. 1. Bf7+ Kf6; 2. Bg8+ Kg6; 3. Qf7+ Kh6; 4. Qh7 mate

mate in 4 beginning with Bf7ch. Bf7ch, Kf6, Bg8ch, Kg6, Qf7ch, Kh6, Qh7 checkmate
1.Bf7+ ending with 4.Qh7#
1. Bf7+ Kf6
2. Bg8+ Kg6
3. Qf7+ Kh6
4. Qh7+#
Here Qf7+ or Qf5+ followed by Qxd7+ looked obvious at first glance but must be erroneous. So it has to be:
1. Bf7+ Kf6
2. Bg8+!
Here Bxd5+ looked obvious but was wrong.
2. … Kg6
3. Qf7+ Kh6
4. Qh6#
So it’s just a matter of not taking any black piece, and not bother about the black queen either…
Firstly picking up the N & B, then pushing the K to the corner, there will follow a mate with Qh7#. It’s quite a beautiful manoevre.
