It sure looks like 1.Nxf5 ought to work, but for the life of me I can’t get the details down.
Has Susan bluffed us out? Is this not really a “problem position” with some kind of flash and glitter solution? Maybe it’s just a humdrum real-world setup where the challenge is simply to find a small edge and try to make something of it?
1.Nxf5 gxf
(1…Rxf5 2.Rxf5 3.gxf Qxf5+ and black will lose the rook on c8)
2.Rf4 and black has problems
1.Nxf5 gxf
(1…Rxf5 2.Rxf5 3.gxf Qxf5+ and black will lose the rook on c8)
2.Rf4 and black has problems
Those problems disappear after:
2…Qg7
1.Nf4 altough the other are also good the position lends itself to pressure, pressure and more pressure until it caves in.

Why not simply (after 1.Nf5: gf) 2.Rf5: and apart from mating threats the Rf8 is hanging.
1.Nxf5 gxf5
2.Rxf5
… runs into a dead end after either 2…Bg6 or 2…Qg7
Nxf5 looks good to me..
Nxf5 looks good to me..
Could you please elaborate? How does White follow up after 1…gxf5?
Well, I don’t see the follow-up to the knight-sac.
Were this a game I were playing, I’d simply play 1 Rxd5 and snatch the pawn. I don’t see a win or any razzle-dazzle, but I don’t see anything better.
1. Nxf5 gxf5
2. Rxf5 RxR
3. Qxf5 wins a rook
If 1. … RxN then
2. RxR Qg7
3. Rf6 White is up the exchange and although Black can still fight, White is better IMO.
In response to tvtom,
1. Rxd5 can be met by
1. … Bf7
2. R moves Bxa2
and White now has to worry about two powerful passed pawns.
Previous note mentioned:
1.Nxf5 gxf 2.Rxf5
running into dead end after 2..Bg6 or 2..Qg7
Anyone seen how to deal with these, or is 1.Nxf5 or 2.Rxf5 wrong?

1.Rxd5 Bf7
2.e6
… upsets that particular applecart. But even after:
1.Rxd5 Bf7
2.Rd6(?) Bxa2??
… White has the killing 3.Rxg6!
