It’s not as easy I think, I’d proceed with 2. Rg3, Ng6 3. Rxg8+ and now Kxg8 4. Qe4! with double attack or better Qxg8 4. Qxh6+, Qh7 5. Qf8+, Qg8 6. Qxg8+, Kxg8 7. Bxg6 and white ends up with two pawns plus.
Why should this be better? Doesn’t Qe4 wins material? After rook moves 5. Bxg6 fxg6 6. Rxg6 the queen is toast.
In between I watched how Movsesian played the ending: his idea was about the same (with the clew Qe4 I think – it did not occur as black surrendered before) but with a little better order of moves taking away the second variation in which white only wins two pawns.
Maybe the order between Bxg6 and Qe4 can be optimized, too, is there any reason to play one of them first (in the Kxg8 line which gives the game position)? (in a real game probably both are winning while in a constructed game for sure one of those moves would give black a nice hidden defense ;))
My comment at 6:30:00 PM CST was incomplete. I meant to say that white needs to play 2.Rxg8+ first because if 2.Rg3 then black can exchange his queen for two rooks. So the sequence should be:
This had to have been a really fun move to play!
The white pieces win on MLK day, too.
1.Rd8 cleans house
Kamalakanta
Susan, would be so kind as to provide the FEN-string for all diagrams? Can’t be too hard, right?
1. Rd8, Qg7 and what now?

Is there any better line?
if Kxg8 in Jochen’s comment, then maybe Qb8+ is better.

2.Rxg8+ Qxg8
3.Qxh6+ Qh7
4.Qxh7#
Yes, Jochen, you’re right! (A position imagined down the line was wrong!) Now, I think white should be able to win the Rook on c6, or better!

Yeah, black loses on MLK day.
Ironic?

Wolverine, probably because of Qb8+ Kh7 ?
Why not 4. Qf3 R~ 5. h5?
4. Bxg6 fxg6 5. Qe4 also look good.
