The move is Bh6+. The king cannot capture because if it does the fork Nf7+ wins the queen. After Kg8, Qa2+ is decisive. The king then moves Kh8 and Nf7+ wins the queen.
Bh6+ looks like a good place to start. If black takes he loses his queen to the good ol’ knight fork. …Kg8 yields 2. Qa2+, then the knight fork cannot be avoided.
i think 1.Bh6+ is best move . (If 1…Kxh6 or 1…Kh8 than 2.Nf7 will fork king and queen) so only move is 1…Kg8 . Now 2.Nc6 Qd7(2…Rxe1+ 3.Rxe1 dont help)Now Ne7?
I think, the posible solution is: 1.Bh6+ Kxh6 2.Nf7 winning the queen or 1.Bh6+,kg8(because kh8. 2.Nf7+ winning the queen) 2.Bd5+, Be6 3.Bxe6+,Rxe6 4.Qa2 pinning the rook.
Looking at it again, the king should take at h6. I still think this should be won for white, but it won’t be one you do with your brain turned off. Black would have two minor pieces and a pawn for the queen. I am too lazy and too drunk to really analyze the continuation afterwards. Maybe later.
There was a very tempting variation which doesn’t work. Of course 1.Bh6+! is the only variation with some initiative otherwise Black is very fine! 1…Kg8 forced 2.Bd5+! nothing else could have a chance to work 2…Be6!? the marks are for the little trick otherwise it’s forced 3.Qa2!! Qe7 4.Nxg6! +- but if 3.Nf7!!??? Bh2+!
Well, 1. Bh6+ is a nice way to win the queen, there is Bd5 and Nf7.
Oh sweet! Susan i saw on chessbase they had something called the Fischer Endgame r they usin tricks on me? UM confused!!!
Bh6+
1. If Kxh6 or Kh8 then Nf7 & win queen
2. If Kh7 then Qa2+ & forced to Kh8 Then Nf7 & win queen
Is there some thing more better ?
My answer is not matching with the hint 🙁
The move is Bh6+. The king cannot capture because if it does the fork Nf7+ wins the queen. After Kg8, Qa2+ is decisive. The king then moves Kh8 and Nf7+ wins the queen.
1. Bh6+ Kg8
2. Bd5+ 1-0 (threat Nf7+)
is it Bh6 ? That would force the black king to g8 (Kxh6 and Kh8 loses the black queen to the fork on f7).
Not too sure how to proceed from there…is it Bd5 followed by Qa2 ?…can’t see why black can’t defend that though.
Total novice here
I hope i’m not totally wrong
I’m guessing first move is Bh6+
1. Bh6+ Kg8 (otherwise Nf7 wins)
2. Bd5+ Be6 (if …Kh8 Nf7)
3. Ng4 Kf7 (only way to save f6 pawn and e6 bishop)
4. Rxe6 Rxe6
5. Bxe6+ Kxe6+
6. Qa2+ should be winning
if 3… Bxd5
4. Rxe8+ Qxe8
5. Nxf6+ wins
if 3… Bh2+
4. Kxh2 Qxd5
5. Nxf6+ wins
1.Bh6+ Kg8
2.Bd5+ Be6
3.Nd7! BxB
4.RxR+ QxR
5.NxP+
1-0
OR
3…..Kf7
4.RxB RxR
5.Re1
1-0
Bh6+ looks like a good place to start. If black takes he loses his queen to the good ol’ knight fork. …Kg8 yields 2. Qa2+, then the knight fork cannot be avoided.
NOT so easy as you think? Looks easy to me. The obvious 1.Bh6+ looks killing. I play it!
i think 1.Bh6+ is best move . (If 1…Kxh6 or 1…Kh8 than 2.Nf7 will fork king and queen) so only move is 1…Kg8 . Now 2.Nc6 Qd7(2…Rxe1+ 3.Rxe1 dont help)Now Ne7?
1. Bh6+ Kg8
(1… Kh8 2. Nf7+ forks the queen)
2. Bd5+ Be6
3. Ng4 Re7
if 3… Bxd5 4. Rxe8+ Qxe8 5. Nxf6+ wins the queen
same line works for 3… Bf7 as well. The bishop on f7 is pinned, so cannot take on e8. The black queen will be lost.
After 3… Re7,
4. Bxe6+
wins
Maybe 2. Qa2+ doesn’t work. …Be6 blocks. Put the thinking cap back on …
1.Bh6+ Kg8 (else 2. Nf7+ wins the queen)
2.Bd5+ Be6
3.Nc6 Nxc6
4.Rxd6 seems to win a piece
Well, what about something like
1.Bh6+ Kg8 [1…Kxh6 2.Nf7+]
2.Bd5+ Be6
3.Qa2 Qe7
4.Nxg6 hxg6
5.Be6+
This doesn’t seem that hard to me. The very first move that jumps out to me is 1. Bh6:
1. Bh6 Kg8 (Kh6/h8? 2. Nf7 wins)
2. Qa2 Be6
3. Bd5 Qe7 (Bd5 4.Qd5 5.Nf7 wins)
4. Ng6 hg6
5. Re6 Kh7
6. Re7 Re7
7. Be3 and white should win this easily.
Bh6+? The night fork looks tempting..but then i am just a patzer …
bh6
I think, the posible solution is:
1.Bh6+ Kxh6
2.Nf7 winning the queen
or
1.Bh6+,kg8(because kh8. 2.Nf7+ winning the queen)
2.Bd5+, Be6
3.Bxe6+,Rxe6
4.Qa2 pinning the rook.
Bh6+ is a killer.
I’m really liking Bh6+ but I’m guessing that’s the”simple”solution that is wrong…
Looking at it again, the king should take at h6. I still think this should be won for white, but it won’t be one you do with your brain turned off. Black would have two minor pieces and a pawn for the queen. I am too lazy and too drunk to really analyze the continuation afterwards. Maybe later.
Bh6+ Kg8
Qa2/Bd5 Be6
Bd5/Qa2 gxe5 (since Qe7 loses to BxB QxB Ng6+)
Bxb+ Kh8
pxe5
In anticipation of heavy material loss ahead Black resigns…lol

Hi Susan Polgar,
Well,”Bh6+” sounds best among all available possibilities.

very good puzzle…
1. Bh6+! Kg8
2. Bd5+ Be6
3. Qxe8+!! QxQ
4. Nd7!
if 4…Qxd7 5. BxB+ winning the rook
if 4…Qe7 5. RxB (threatening discovered check winning lot of material…) 5…QxR 6.BxQ+ winning the other rook
butm 4…BxB! wouldn’t win much material…
