Brazilian Grandmaster Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian convincingly won the open tournament in Varna, Bulgaria, after concluding the event with 7,5 points from nine games, leaving the chasing pack a full point behind.
The 7th International Chess Tournament Varna Open was held on 19-27th June. The tournament was organized by the Chess Club “Veselin Topalov”.
89 players from 11 countries competed, including 13 Grandmasters and 12 International Masters.
