Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Nakamura is clearly better than everyone. He’s just unlucky in this tournament.
Congratulations to Magnus on winning, and congratulations to all six players and everyone else concerned for making it an entertaining tournament!
You’re clearly a FanBoy.
And in all the other tournaments that form the basis for the official ranking….?
Congrats to Magnus! Future World Champion!
Congrats to Magnus on a great comeback!
I was disappointed by the current World Champion, of course. But I observed that he NEVER played d4 with white (except in the last game) and always chose boring continuation while with black.
There could be fireworks against Gelfand with sharp d4 openings and with Sicilian in black.
reversal of fortunes between sao paolo and bilbao.
ivanchuk was first after sao paolo, magnus at the tail. at the end of bilbao, they were tied.
weird is ivanchuk won with black pieces — against anand and aronian — at sao paolo.so he had a huge advantage coming into round 2.
is it age/stamina or was it because he was robbed?
