Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Shirov is excellent so far. He finishes off all the opponents in the classical games itself.
Susan, I know you’re pulling for Kamsky and so am I. He’s going all the way!
Go Kamsky and Shirov! the only hopes against Kramnik
GATA KAMSKY rules!!!!!!!

Hi,

I am very happy to see Shirov winning again. I hope he is going to destroy Carlsen (I predict they meet in the final).
As far as I remember the winner here gets a match against Topalov and the winner of that match plays against the world champ (Anand or Kramnik)? Is this last match a match for the crown?
Does Shirov probably finally gets his chance to fight for the crown after Kasparow denied to play him?
Shirov for champ!
I realize that many fans prefer matches which show a greater depth of play but these sorts of tournaments are pretty exciting and interesting. One can’t say that top players don’t rise to the final rounds yet less well know players get the chance to show their skills.
Plus for the sponsors, each day builds to the final match rather than with a round robin or swiss where often the last day is a bit of a let down.
Go Yaffa!
I agree with jochen, I think it will be divine justice if Shirov finally gets the shot at the title that he deserved by beating Kramnik in 1998. And the irony will be full if he gets to play against Kramnik in 2009 and beats him again! On top of that, we will have been treated to the pleasure of a Shirov-Topalov match. 🙂
Carlsen – Karjakin for final. Something we will become tired of watching in the years to come 😉
Nakamura will spoil any future Carlsen-Karjakin wedding plan.
I am salivating at a Shirov-Topalov match.
they all have a shot at this stage of the tournament, plus its against topalov not kramnik; although whoever gets to win here and in case that they beat topa, then the prize will be play against either the anand or kram, imagine, being able to play against two world champions and why not become one yourself!”
what else can anyone ask, i feel sorry that ivanchuck wasted such a beauty!!!
was carlsen. chepa a good game?
carlsen wil definetely be a world champion soon, do u think sooner than all expect??
