After defeating super GM Akopian (2700) in the first round of the Gibraltar tournament, Irina took out Korchnoi in round 8! Great job! I understand that it may not be the prettiest win but a win is a win 🙂

Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
while congratulations are due Krush, Korchnoi actually had a winning position till the last move. He missed the relatively straight forward tactical shot of Rf8+, Rxf8, Bd5 winning the queen for the rook and bishop.
Irena is a favorite of mine. I really admire her. She is one really nice person who also plays a wicked game of chess.
Some guy above says he fell for your old sandbag trick. Nice going. These guys hate to lose to women. LOL.
Keep up your nice smile. I really like your smile.
She’s on quite a roll…Go Irena!
Not very many people have defeated Korchnoi. And not very many women. Did he get angry when he lost? I know he does not like to lose and he hates losing to women.
I bet he did not stay around to analyze the game with you with grace and dignity.
Susan will show you how to beat Korchnoi. LOL. I think she has a video of him losing. Or maybe I should say the video shows him storming off after he lost. LOL.
“Not the prettiest”?! A tongue in cheek remark! She *is* pretty!
I’ve always thought that Korchnoi’s comment to Sofia was just hilarious:

Maybe he said the same thing to Irina 🙂
I think that she and Jennifer Shahade were classmates at NYU. By now they must have graduated.
Although Korchnoi was winning with Rf8+, I would not say he was winning until the last move. In fact, Korchnoi was slightly worse throughout, then Irina played tentatively and lost her advantage. A double blunder at the end, although Korchnoi’s was more egregious.
Still, nice to beat Akopian and Korchnoi in the same event!
Does anyone know of Irina has a chance for a GM Norm?
BPF
Krush is the greatest name for a chess player.
And she is so sexy too!
Anybody knows if this beauty is available?
g6?
She has a soft face and a very erotic physique.
🙂
Not too shabby and an IM to boot! Korchnoi can be forgiven, I do believe.
Irina is my chess teacher; and I am really thrilled by her victory. She had a great tournament!
She is also a very kind and classy woman, and a great teacher. It is a real honor to be able to take lessons from her.
It’s really special to defeat a chess legend, one of the three greatest players never to have been world champion (Rubinstein and Keres being the other two).
I really hope that Korchnoi, for whom I have always had tremendous respect and admiration, took this loss with the dignity of a champion.
Irina seems to be getting much stronger as a player; I believe that this tournament brought her closer to the GM title.
