The 6th Andranik Margaryan Memorial was organized by the Chess Academy of Armenia from 8th to 16th January, 2016, in Armenian capital Yerevan.
The event was a 10-player single round-robin tournament, valid for GM norms.
The 18-year-old Russian player IM David Paravyan emerged a convincing winner with 6.5/9 points. He finished 1.5 points ahead of the nearest followers and fulfilled a GM norm.
The second place was shared in a three-way tie by IM Maksim Chigaev (Russia), FM Haik Martirosyan (Armenia) and GM Olexandr Bortnyk (Ukraine), after the whole group finished the event with 5 points.
